It’s almost too easy nowadays! Before you click out of this blog let me rest my case. Kelly Bryant will indeed be playing for the Tigers next season, the Auburn Tigers that is.

History Won’t Repeat Itself

There is one thing for certain, Coach Malzahn is licking his chops right now. Probably foaming at the mouth even. Auburn currently has ONE QB commit out of all of their current recruiting classes. Bo Nix, who is currently ranked the #4 dual threat quarterback in the nation, will likely have to wait a season before he gets his shot.

Out of Bryant’s 29 games that he’s played in his record is 27-2. Unless you’re Alabama, those numbers are astronomical. Another Quarterback had a similar run… does the name Jameis Winston ring a bell? If I could remember correctly didn’t Winston not only win a Heisman trophy but also lead the Seminoles to a National Title? Against who? That’s right, your Auburn Tigers.

Usually this is edited with crab legs instead of the crystal ball…

The Tigers don’t want to witness another elite quarterback dominate the field and potentially steal another natty from under their belt. This is Auburn’s time to shift the power in the SEC and allow Bryant a chance to compete at the highest level possible. If Nick Marshall almost pulled it out (Against arguably the greatest Florida State team of all time) just imagine what Bryant is capable of doing.

Status of Auburn’s Offense

Currently, Jarrett Stidham and the Auburn offense are #70th in the nation in regards to passing yards. This simply won’t get it done to contend for a playoff spot in this year’s field. While Stidham had more passing yards than Bryant last season, he only rushed for 153 to Bryant’s 665 yards. If there is one thing that wins in college football, and that is a QB who can scoot.

When Auburn competes for a National Championship there has always been one thing in common, a Dual Threat QB. Nothing against Nix, but Bryant is a proven entity at the quarterback position and capable of being the Tiger’s answer next season. Does anyone remember the last dual threat quarterback to bring Auburn a national title?

Ok, lets not get ahead ourselves. It’s an unfair comparison and raises the expectation for Bryant’s move to Auburn through the roof… but facts are facts. The fact is that the Tigers compete at the highest level with this style of play. Insert a solid running game and competent defense, they might be looking at another national championship in 2019.

P.S. Let’s get #BryantToAuburn trending on twitter, yeah?
