Halloween is finally upon us, and as many go out to Trick or Treat, it’s good to know what you’re getting yourself into. Players all across the league are sure to give out some good candy to the neighborhood kids. We’ve just decided to give out a little cheat sheet so you can know what to expect.

Brad Marchand

Now we know Brad has had his run ins with Player Safety, but he’s really here for the children. The Bruins star winger will undoubtedly be giving out Tootsie Pops this year. In reality, all he wants is to know is how many licks it takes to get to the center. So, Bruins fans, take this as an owl joke. The rest of us, we know he just doesn’t have time to lick if it’s not another player in the league.

Henrik Lundqvist

Hank gives out the big bars. The “King” size if you will. Everyone loves going to his house the first time around. After that, you start to notice that the candy bars are a little stale. If he lived in another city, or gave out the bars a few years earlier, they’d be edible. It’s a lot to ask, because he already gave so much, but you can’t help but wonder.

Tom Wilson

Tom is just a big kid himself, really. A violent, sort of dumb kid, but a kid nonetheless. Crunch bars are his go to, for no other reason then he likes the name. He can’t even give them to kids without saying the word crunch, but he manages to keep his elbows in. We applaud the effort and appreciate the irony in his candy choice. Niklas Kronwall sometimes helps out, here.

Sidney Crosby

What a selection this guy has, and the best part? He lets you choose! Often times, you haven’t actually heard of the candy he has, but coming from him it’s better than expected. On it’s own, the candy is a little mediocre, but he adds a certain level of flavor to each one. The REALLY good stuff, he just lets Geno have.

John Tortorella

Coach doesn’t usually have the light on for Halloween, mostly because he hates kids. When he does, everyone is in for a surprise. This year, Torts is handing out PB&J’s solely because he loves the jam. The grit from the crunchy peanut butter is a plus for him as well, has to be gritty. Just know, when you stop at Tortorella’s home, you can expect a lot of jam and plenty of grit.

Jonathan Toews

Raisins. Yup, that’s it. Captain serious gives out raisins to all the kids and no one leaves without saying their please and thank you’s.

Patrik Laine

Patrik is a big gumball guy. He finds it soothing in his off days, and thinks everyone else should chew more gum. When you ring his doorbell, be prepared for plenty of gumballs and other gummy candy. The only caveat is that each time he hands one out, it’s followed with the story of how his grandfather invented gumballs. Which is, to say the least, exhausting.

Johnny Gaudreau

Johnny Hockey gives out a handful of bite size candy. He thinks it looks bigger in his hands and is plenty worried about cavities for the kids. He stresses over and over not to eat it all in one place, but the tiny treats never make it home.

Radko Gudas

Candy somehow reminds Gudas of clean, no BS hits, and he hates it. He never gives out candy. Instead of sweets, Radko just throws rocks at kids passing by. It’s easy for him though, because there’s usually a handful of Flyers fans telling the kids to stop crying and that he threw them without knowing.

Candy Land

So that’s it. Your 2018 guide to trick or treating this Halloween. There is plenty to be excited for this year, so you really gotta get to the dirty areas and follow through. Have fun, stay safe, and please, don’t tell Torts you don’t appreciate jam like he does.
