Who doesn’t love a good underdog? Here is your weekly breakdown of the college football team that you should have confidence in placing your bets on. Update: (5-1)
Before we kick this one off, last weekend was one big fat YIKES. Clemson absolutely smoked Wake Forest and I didn’t go with my gut by taking the Seminoles in a rivalry game. My apologies but let’s get it poppin’.
Wisconsin (+9.5) vs. Michigan
As previously stated before, its always a good idea to take the underdog especially in a rivalry game. Michigan has no impressive wins this season and Harbaugh has moved himself into a nice hot seat. This weekend is an ultimate clash of the defenses with Michigan ranked 11th and Wisconsin at 13th (in Total Defense) These almost coincide with their rankings at 12 and 15 respectively in the AP Polls. Michigan is averaging five more points per game than the Badgers to shape Saturday night to be another Big 10 classic.
Let’s breakdown some other quick stats and trend’s heading into this showdown:
Wisconsin Quick Stats
- 6-1 ATS in their last seven games on the road.
- 9-1-1 ATS in their last eleven meetings against Michigan.
- Underdog is 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 meetings.
Michigan Quick Stats
- Wolverines are 3-7-1 ATS against a team with a winning record over their last 11 games.
- 3-9 ATS following a SU win by more than 20 points.
- 1-4-1 in their last six home games against Wisconsin
Counter- Stats:
- Michigan is 5-1 ATS in their last six games at home.
- Wisconsin is 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight up win.
It is safe to throw both of those counter stats out the window during a must win rivalry game for Michigan. Jim Harbaugh is coaching for his life after coming in with major expectations and the Badgers are seeking redemption after an atrociously bad loss against BYU earlier this season. Vegas in bonkers for indicating that the Wolverines will win by two possessions especially with the way they have been performing this season. Time will tell. Definitely redemption time for me.
