Another day, another instance where the Raiders make the Dolphins look like a well run franchise. Today, Oakland is dealing with the idea that teammates of Derek Carr have turned on him because he was crying after getting hurt against the Seahawks.

Not a great look to the untrained eye, but is there actually anything more alpha then being a full grown adult who is a NFL player and is crying in front of them and in front of the world after getting hurt? The answer is no. It’s no because I bet if you asked any other Raider, NFL player, professional athlete, any self-respecting adult to cry in front of millions, they would all say no. But, if you asked them to hide their feelings and bury their emotions like everybody else in the world, they all would follow like lepers. That’s not Carr’s style. He takes the Dick Vermeil approach when it comes to feelings.

Aftermath

Where does Derek go from here? He goes right back to letting those tears flow like the Nile because the last thing his teammates will respect less than their most expensive player balling their eyes out on the field because he got a boo-boo is a known crier trying to act tough by not crying. Be who you are and cry those tears.

And to think, a guy who wears eyeliner into battle would ever get accused of crying on the field.
