Overall record against the spread on the season: 36-24 (60%)
Disappointing Week 6
Before we get into the Week 7 College Football Top 10 Betting Picks, lets take a look at a quick recap of last week’s catastrophe.
Week 6 was a week of disappointment for this column. We had our first losing week at 4-6. It was a complete disappointment that we lost our winning record on two plays that were in complete garbage time.
- Alabama failed to cover, as they let Arkansas return the kickoff in the last min all the way down to the 20 yard line. Then they gave up a meaningless TD with roughly 30 seconds to go in the game to ruin the spread. It was truly heartbreaking, as it ended up costing me thousands in parlay wins.
- NC State got their punt blocked in the end zone with 3 minutes left, after dominating the game and covering the spread the entire game against Boston College. They gave up 13 points in the 4th to ruin a bunch of my parlays, and ruin my Week 6 column.
I had some other misfortunes, like Michigan vs Maryland, where the weather I thought was going to keep the game slow and on the ground, ended up DELAYING the game, and by the second half, was a complete non-factor. Then the game looked great for our pick of the under, but then both Michigan and Maryland put up a combined 29 points in the 4th quarter, to completely crush my under.Â
To put it lightly, I screamed mildly at the tv this past weekend a “few” times.
So lets move on to Week 7. I do not even want to talk about Week 6 anymore. I’m just going to get too pissed off and not even finish this column.
Week 7 Thoughts
This week actually has some really unusual spreads that “should” favor our bettors. I do not quite understand the Michigan vs Wisconsin spread being +10 for Wisconsin right now. Other than it being @Michigan, it does not make much sense. Wisconsin has not lost a game by more than 10 points but twice in the last like decade – 2014 to Ohio State and 2015 to Alabama. I just do not see Michigan being talented enough on offense to win this by double digits.Â
UCF is only a 5 point favorite over Memphis, which is crazy to me. Memphis got smoked by Tulane and lost to Navy. I do not care if this game is at Memphis, or that this game could see a lot of scoring – Memphis is winning this game by 20.
Florida is going to smoke Vandy. They have one of the best Defenses in the country, and I dont see how Vandy scores more than 10 in this game. I see Florida winning this game by at least 3 scores.
Those are just a few of the bets im going to throw down this weekend. Lets take a look at our Week 7 picks, as we look to rebound in a major way.
