Bang Radio Hour 345: Ben makes it up, Romo calls the play, Develin gets the wham, Universal Excitement, Action News on the scene, No beer was harmed and more!

The Bang Radio Hour podcast is back with another red hot look at the week that was in the NFL. ( You can listen to the show at the bottom of the page.) What follows is a synopsis of what’s in the show, because I have to have a certain number of words for this article, and it will hopefully tease you into giving it a listen.

Episode 345 is chock full of characters that populate the show, and it’s full of plenty of solid laughs surrounding last week’s games. You’ve heard all the stats and analysis. Now it’s time for some fun before NFL week 16 gets underway.

Synopsis: The First Quarter

Our 345th podcast starts off with some old friends, Skeeter and Duane Mullette. The Mullette brothers are just a couple of good ol’ boys, not much different than many of them you might know.

They both like wearing the same greasy ballcap every day, wifebeater T shirts and flannels with the sleeves cut off. And they love the Dallas Cowboys more than life itself. To this end they have recorded a Cowboys Christmas album which they will try to sell on the show.

As the show gets rolling we jump in with an update for the Pigskin Pick ’em contest standings, and have a very PC moment while running down some of the funniest team names. Unfortunately, this leads to a visit from Testiclés, the God of Balls, who makes a sticky mess all over the microphones.

The Second Quarter

12:14 John and Tom then get in the Last Word on Last Week, which leads to some discussion of the Rams seeming slide, and the Eagles seeming rise.

15:00 We have a good laugh at the Packers as Aaron Rodgers throws his teammates under the 6:15 bus in a press conference.

17:20 Patriots Steelers talk:  Frequent guest Ben Roethlisberger stops in for some talk about the great Steelers win over the Patriots.
He draws up plays in the dirt, and explains how ad-libbing shapes the NFL and has affected his career. Ben finishes up with some Christmas caroling at the request of a listener.

23:00 John and Tom spend a few minutes discussing the Saints receivers and offense going forward. Sean Payton and Drew Brees move into 2nd place for regular season wins for a coach / QB duo. Shleprock ex coach Jeff Fisher calls in to get some attention.

28:20 Xs and Os time and we learn that Patriots fullback James Develin hates the wham play. CBS super booth guy Tony Romo tells us why in graphic detail. John and Tom then spend a ridiculous few minutes imagining how this play develops from a variety of scenarios.

The Third Quarter

30:20 Analzin’ Eddie, Donnie, and Jeff’ Analytics means putting on the thinking caps and trying to determine the percentage of bullshit that comes within every simulated simulation.

36: 00 Discussing the Giants on the Colin Cowherd Show, Eric Dickerson says how he really feels about Saquon Barkley possibly breaking his rookie rushing record. (John’s personal record of being able to listen to Colin Cowherd before having to stop out of fear of bursting a vein still stands at 144 seconds.)

39:00 Tom likes having quizzes once John has had a few. So we run down the top five rookie rushers of all time. After a good start, John reminds us all why we should say no to certain substances, kids.

42:00 Action news 41 report from Arrowhead where fans are throwing beer at the Chargers. Andy Reid demands pizza to go with.

The Fourth Quarter

46:00  An exclusive report by Harry Sphincter, ace Bang Radio Hour reporter. Harry is live on the scene in Kansas City during the post-game beer bombing.

50:00 Fun with Miss Universe as the Phillipines goes crazy for the winner. God stops by for some divine locker room talk.

54:OO Emails from listeners including Tom’s mom, and a Bears fan from up near the arctic circle. He sends the most Canadian trash talk email we’ve ever gotten.
