Women’s Tag Team Championships

Announced by Vince McMahon-ta Claus himself, in 2019 WWE will introduce Women’s Tag Team Championships to their brand. It’s not clear as of now if there will be separate championships for both Raw and Smackdown Live or if the champions will carry the belts through both brands as there are only a handful of women’s tag teams in WWE at the moment on both rosters.

The Wrong Decision

The Raw Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode and Chad Gable defended their belts against the Revival in a really good back and forth match. Gable and Roode retained via roll up and I am beside myself.

I get how Gable & Roode just won the championships but this is supposed a new era, right? The Revival needed to win here. I understand this is part of the story and the Revival are probably going to get another shot somewhere down the line but if you want fans to believe things are changing, actually have things change.

Finn Balor

Rumor has it that Finn Balor is set for a big singles run soon and it looks like it’s beginning already. Picking up a huge victory tonight over Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, Balor looks to finally be on the right path for the first time since becoming the inaugural Universal Champion back at SummerSlam 2016.

As this was a holiday episode of Raw, the lack of substance and story line progression was apparent. Next week looks to be stacked with a steel cage match headlining the show as well as the return of John Cena. Hopefully change is coming in the weeks and months coming forward.
