Week 13 is now in the books bringing us to playoff time. Now that the Fantasy playoffs are here for many, it is essential to look at using your claims for high upside players who have the potential to win a championship for you. Here is a look at my top waiver wire adds for Week 13:

Quarterback:

Josh Allen BUF (5%) At this point in the fantasy season, many leagues will be entering the playoffs. If you are one of the teams that made it there but don’t have a viable quarterback option, I would say Josh Allen should be the #1 claim at this position. The last two weeks, Allen has put up 26 and 30 fantasy points. Allen and the Bills will be playing the Jets, whose defense has allowed 248 yards a game and 21 passing touchdowns on the season. If you are in the playoffs, you hopefully already have a better option at QB, but Allen’s rushing ability creates a nice floor if you are in a desperate situation.

Running Back:

Justin Jackson LAC (24%) Justin Jackson didn’t have the role many thought he would in Week 13 as he rushed just 8 times. However, he managed 63 yards and a touchdown on a 18 yard run, which gave the Chargers the lead in the 4th quarter. Melvin Gordon could potentially come back for Week 14, though the Chargers shouldn’t feel the need to rush back one of their best offensive players. While Gordon should be inactive against the Bengals, Jackson should see a much larger role with the starting offense. The Bengals have one of the worst defenses this season, making Jackson a must claim and start if Gordon will be held out again.

Jeff Wilson JR. SF(4%) Matt Breida went down with an injury once again in the 49ers backfield, marking the 3rd time this season they lost a starting running back. Jeff Wilson came into the game and finished very strong, rushing 15 times for 61 yards while also catching 8-9 targets for 73 yards. With Breida set to miss at least one week, Wilson could be a good option to get you a win in the first round of the playoffs.

Wide Receiver:

Dante Pettis SF (6%) Pettis has produced touchdowns the least two weeks. In Week 12, he caught 4 passes for 77 yards and a touchdowns. He topped that performance in Week 13, catching 5 of 7 targets for 129 yards and two touchdown receptions. The 49ers will be taking on the Broncos in Week 14, who lost starting cornerback Chris Harris to a fractured fibula. If receiver is a position you are struggling at, I would recommend putting in a claim for Pettis, unless a better option like Adam Humphries is still available in your league.

Chris Godwin TB (46%) Godwin has looked like the Bucs future #2 next to Mike Evans. With Desean Jackson missing Week 13 with a thumb injury, Godwin went on to catch 5 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. In his 49 catches this season, Godwin has been averaging an impressive 13.8 yards per catch. If Jackson misses Week 14, Godwin is a must play. It will be tough to determine if Jackson will be inactive this early in the week, which makes it tough to claim a player, but Godwin should still be a top waiver claim if available in your fantasy league.

Tight End:

Jaylen Samuels RB/TE PIT (10%) If he has the /TE eligibility in your league, I would consider Samuel a higher claim priority for Week 14 as the tight end position has been one of the toughest to fill this season. If he’s only running back eligible in your league, I would still recommend putting in a claim for Samuel as James Conner suffered a leg injury late in the loss to the Chargers.  Conner is unable to go for Week 14, so Samuels will be a top play in all fantasy leagues, as the Steelers will be taking on one of the worst defenses this season in the Oakland Raiders. With the Steelers basically locked into the playoffs, it could be wise for them to give Conner off or atleast give him a limited role, allowing them to roll with Samuels to see if he can contribute while Conner recovers from his minor injury.
