The Conference Championship weekend it’s here, this is the final step to reach the SB LIII and the games could not be more even, in both matches, we have a confrontation between a legend against a young rising star, believe me, it’s been a while since the last time I remember having  such a hard time picking a side, but the truth is that these games are very even, the 4 best teams of the season face each other and anything can happen.

Conference Championship Picks

After reviewing as much info I had at my disposal (and that’s a lot if you know this thing called The Internet, Lol), discuss it with my friends, my brothers and even with my little 6 yr old daughter, Estefania, these are my Picks for the Conference Championships:

NFC Pick: Saints -3

Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints: This match is very special, because in addition to facing a Legend against a Young Star in the position of QB, also face two bright offensive minds in the position of Head Coach, by New Orleans,  the veteran and Offensive genius,Sean Payton and by the Rams, the coach of the moment, the guy who it’s getting all his friends Head Coaching Interviews just for knowing him, the young genius….Sean McVay, who is even younger than Drew Brees, the QB of the Saints.

Besides the individual matches, both teams have a great Offense,  and both are having a great season so far, but I think the experience will prevail, the Saints defense is the second best against the run, so, they will depend heavily on the Rams QB, Jared Goff, something that the Saints can take advantage of, on the other hand, it also will be very hard for the Saints to run the ball, since they face the best defensive player of the NFL, Aaron Donald, and his partner Ndamukong Suh, they will make life impossible for RBs Kamara and Ingram, but I think Drew Brees will take his team on his shoulders and win it by more than FG.

I believe it’s going to be a very close encounter, and I even see the possibility that they will go to Over Time, but I think that in the end, Drew Brees will close his great season giving the Saints a ticket to the Super Bowl LIII….quite possibly, the last one in his illustrious career.

* AFC Pick: Patriots +3

New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs: Another game that was too difficult to predict, and where a great Legend, Tom Brady, faces against the current NFL Golden Boy, the young sensation,  Patrick Mahomes, who is having a dream season in his first season as a starter achieving 50 touchdown passes and leading the Chiefs to be the AFC first seed and his first Playoff victory in a long time.

They already faced each other during the season, but this time, New England will have to play away from home, in a hostile and very cold environment, the cold is not a problem for them, since they have Brady, the best QB ever playing in extreme cold and snow,  the big task for the Pats will be to stop Patrick Mahomes, Tyrek Hill, Travis Kelce and the rest of the Chiefs Offense playing at home, but Brady has a secret weapon, his HC, Bill Belichick, who results to be an expert in defeating inexperienced QBs, they are going to have a very hard time in Kansas, that’s for sure, but it’s not impossible for the Patriots to win.

I think the Patriots will find a way to win, Brady will walk into another Super Bowl and it will be a Super Bowl between two Great Legends, who already are in the top 10 QBs of all time.

Conference Championship

Change it’s coming?

Many people believe  that the generational change is already here in Goff and Mahomes, but I do not see it that way, not just yet, maybe I am a romantic and old-fashioned, but I think the Legends  are not ready to pass the torch yet, I think that Brady and Brees are going to have one of the best games in his careers to show the world that they are not finished yet and that, at least this year, they are still the best.

Enjoy the games and wait for my next Article week with my Super Bowl 53 Pick and also some special Props that I like to bet on every Super Bowl !!
