I discovered Kenny Omega in 2011 when he had a wrestling match with a 9 year old girl in DDT. At the time, I had no idea how huge he would get from there. After being picked up by NJPW full time in 2013, he quickly joined the Bullet Club, dethroning AJ Styles as leader of the faction and creating the Elite with the Young Bucks. From there, Omega became one of the biggest stars in the world as he put on classic matches with everyone he stepped in the ring with.

We’ve Seen This Before

For the past three years after Wrestle Kingdom, the pro wrestling world has sat back to see where Kenny Omega would end up. Two years ago, Kenny Omega put on one of the greatest matches of all time with Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 11. After taking the fall to Okada, many assumed it was his time to come to WWE but he stayed. After returning, he became the first IWGP United States champion, put on two more classic matches with Okada. He even wrestled Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12. As Omega was still the IWGP US champion, it seemed more likely last year that he’d stay and he did, finally capturing the IWGP Heavyweight championship from Okada.

All Elite Wrestling

Wrestle Kingdom is over, Omega dropped the belt, and all of the Elite have left Japan and ROH. All eyes are on Kenny Omega and his every move. Kenny has announced that he is leaving NJPW officially and it brings up the question once again. Where is Kenny Omega going to end up?

The most obvious answer is All Elite Wrestling. Because AEW is run by his Elite stablemates, Cody and the Young Bucks, Omega wouldn’t think twice about going there. AEW just had a press conference and have quickly signed stars like Chris Jericho, SCU and PAC to name a few. The thought of Kenny Omega vs PAC is mouth watering to say the least. To think that Kenny Omega would go anywhere else would make you insane. Right?

Reportedly, Omega has been offered a deal north of $3.5 million to join the WWE. There’s no way to prove this offer is true or not, although WWE knows Omega will only come to Vinnie Mac’s fun house for big paydays. If Vince is able to pick up Omega, this could be one of the biggest signings in WWE history.

In my humble opinion, Kenny Omega’s the best wrestler in the world and would be a star wherever he goes. Because of the platform WWE would give Kenny, I see him being the biggest star in the company very quickly. There wouldn’t be a stop in NXT either; he needs to debut in the Royal Rumble and stay on the main roster going forward.

Wherever Kenny Omega decides to go, he will be the best in the world. If he goes to AEW, he’ll tear the house down with Jericho, Janela and PAC. If he goes to WWE he’ll tear the house down with Styles, Bryan and Balor. No matter where he goes he will be a top star as one of, if not the best wrestler in the world.
