Finally the Super Bowl Sunday has come, the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams face each other in the Super Bowl LIII, also, like every season, it is a day of mixed emotions, on one hand, there is joy because we will enjoy a new Super Bowl and for another part it means that there will be no NFL for six months!

Will the Patriots be Champions again and endorse their Dynasty status? Or we will witness the beginning of a new era in the NFL with the young Rams? We will know that on Sunday for sure, but now let’s move on to betting matters and for this we will review some of the last Super Bowls history:

Super Bowl 48, Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Broncos came out as favorites for this game, we all trusted in Payton Manning and the Denver offense and the game was won by the Seahawks defense, the score was Seattle 43 / Denver 8.

Super Bowl 49, New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks

This time Seattle came out as favorite because of great defense and  the game was won by the Patriots offense with a great defensive play at the end, the final score was Patriots 28 / Seattle 24

Super Bowl 50, Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers

Carolina was the big time favorite in this game, Cam Newton and his 15-1 season faced an aging Payton Manning in his final run, the result was Denver 24 / Carolina 10.

Super Bowl 51, New England Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Patriots came out as favorites and won it with a historic come back with a score of Patriots 34 / Falcons 28.

Super Bowl 52, New England Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Patriots came out as favorites again but this time they lost against the big time Underdogs,  as the Eagles won it 41 to 33.

As we can see, being a favorite it’s a little bit useless when you are in the Super Bowl, everything achieved during the season and the statistics is left behind, now it’s a power battle between two teams and anything can happen.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

* Super Bowl LIII Pick: Patriots -2.5

New England Patriots vs. Los Angeles Rams: This is a unique Super Bowl, full of contrasts, and there is one in particular that catches my attention, the strategy duel between the most veteran Coach to reach a Super Bowl, the defensive Wizard Bill Belichick against the youngest Head Coach that has ever come to these instances, the offensive Genius Sean McVay, I believe that the experience of Belichick gives the Patriots advantage to the Patriots, however, it is not enough just with the strategy to win , the players must execute well enough to be able to beat their rivals.

We can see a lot of contrasts in both lineups too, for the Patriots the man who commands the attack is no other than the legendary QB Tom Brady, and complimenting him, the four-headed monster of Michell, Burkhead, White and Devlin along with Edelman and Gronk, on the other hand for the Rams, the man in charge of leading the attack, will be the young QB Jared Goff who along with RB Todd Gurley and in the defensive side, the best Defensive Player in the NFL, Aaron Donald together with Talib, Peters, Shu and company.

I’m going with New England since during all these Playoffs I have leaned towards the Veterans experience over  the youngsters, on the other hand, I believe that the rams depend more on individual plays than on teamwork and the Patriots work perfectly as a team, they are like a well-oiled machine, where outside of Brady, nobody is indispensable.

Final Resolution

It will not be easy for the Patriots to come out with the victory, but I think they are not ready to pass the torch, they have all the experience of the world playing in a Super Bowl and I think they will give extra effort for not to lose two Super Bowls in a row, so, I believe Brady and Belichick will win a new Super Bowl, which, very likely, will be the last one in their very successful careers.

Props and Additional Bets

I would like to share with you an additional set Picks just for fun, these Picks are known in the world of betting as “Props” which are nothing more than Odds for everything that can happen in the match, from which one will be the first song played in the Half time Show, to who will win the Coin Toss…here are my favorite Props for this game:

Total Sacks in the game: More than 4.5

* Both teams have a very solid defensive line and i think it is very likely that they will reach 5 or 6 sacks during the game.

More points scored in a Half: Second half, including extra time.

* In 21 of the last 32 super bowls they have scored more points in the second half.

The color of the Gatorade that will be poured on the game-winning Coach: Purple

* This is a Pick that depends only on luck and if it only depends on that, we go for the option that pays the most, Lol

Passing yard by a player RB Todd Gurley: More than 30.5

* I think they have been resting Gurley so he can be at 100 percent for this match and they will use him a lot.

The first Super Bowl score will be: Field Goal

* Both teams have a good red zone defense and none will risk much in the first offense, so I believe that the FG is the most likely option.

Time of the first Field Goal scored: In the first 16 minutes

* This Pick is a consequence of the previous one, if I think that the first score will be Field Goal, the most likely time for it to happen is during the 1st. Quarter

Enjoy your family and enjoy the Super Bowl  LIII a lot, and remember, it doesn’t matter if we win or we lose betting, the most important thing is to enjoy our loved ones and have a great time watching the Super Bowl!
