The NFL season it’s over, but there is a light for the millions of fans of this league around the world since a new league has born, the AAF, Alliance of American Football it’s here to save us for been without football for six long months.

Knowing the AAF

This new born league just started last week and has only eight teams, which are:

Atlanta Legends.

Birmingham Iron.

Memphis Express.

Orlando Apollos.

Arizona Hotshots.

Salt Lake Stallions.

San Antonio Commanders.

San Diego Fleet.

There are expansion plans for next season, it is planned to expand it to four more teams, and to continue growing according to the public acceptance, which by the way, was very good in the first week of action.

The AAF does not intend to compete with the NFL, on the contrary, is associated with the NFL to serve as a bridge for players and coaches who that are currently out of the league, it will be a place where they can show their talents and maybe, to have a second chance to get in to the NFL.

Main Figures

Among its main figures are, QB Luis Perez, RB Trent Richardson, RB Zac Stacy, WR Charles Johnson and as Head Coaches,  Mike Martz, Mike Singletary, and Steve Spurrier, are among the most outstanding, they will have and schedule of 10 regular season games and two Playoffs Games, including the Championship game.

New Rules

The rules of this league are very similar to the NFL but with some changes, the most important are:

  • On defense, no more than five players may rush on passing plays.
  • Instead of kickoffs, the ball will start on the 25-yard line after each score .
  • Instead of kicking an extra point, teams have to attempt a two-point conversion after every touchdown.
  • The Play clock will be shortened to 30 seconds.
  • No field goal attempts will be allowed in overtime

So go and check out the rosters and the team uniforms to see which team will you support, personally, as a fan of the Oakland Raiders, I will support the Birmingham Iron, because in addition to keep rooting for the same colors (Silver & Black), i like a lot how QB Luis Perez plays, but everyone can make his own choice !!

AAF Fantasy Football to learn more about the league

Final recommendations

My friends and I already made our Fantasy Football AAF league, we will start in week two, I recommend doing the same or even start in week three to know a little better the players and draft  properly, also I recommend making your leagues with no more than eight teams, since there are only eight Starting QBs, eight Defenses and eight Kickers available and establish as a rule, that each team can only draft one player from each of those positions in order to have a more balanced and competitive league.

So, let’s go and play AAF Fantasy Football !
