With the release of everyone’s favorite dirty player, I would be personally freaked out if Vontez Burfict didn’t end up on the Raiders. I mean, isn’t the whole part of him getting released by the Bengals is for him to get signed and embraced like no one has ever been embraced by the black hole.
Burfict checks a lot of boxes of what it takes to be part of Raider Nation. Aggressive towards everybody regardless if they ever did anything to you, check. Be able to shell out tens of thousands of dollars for things that are avoidable, check. Have the ability to sacrifice the entire team so that you could get a nice perfect blindsiding hit on a guy who wasn’t expecting it, check.
With that being said, I’d be shocked if Burfict left Oakland without a major contract. I’m pretty sure it was written on the pyramid walls that at some point, Vontez Burfict has to play for the Oakland Raiders. Somewhere, Al Davis is smiling and trying to figure out if it’s possible to become the first ghost who is also a manager.
I love how Khalil Mack, Amari Cooper and others aren’t part of the Raiders future but Vontez Burfict is the kind of guy they want around.
