Yesterday’s Picks

Bucks -12- HIT

Rockets -1.5- MISS

Phillies -110- MISS

Cardinals -155-HIT

Yankees -110-HIT

Orioles +110-MISS

Rangers +125-MISS

Yesterday wasn’t the best day but considering Bryce Harper got tossed early and we took a shot at two underdogs, it wasn’t too terrible. The Bucks took care of business and the Cards and Yankees were easy wins. We’ll be better today, and we’ve got four basketball games to get it rolling.

Basketball Winners

Game: Orlando Magic @ Toronto Raptors
Line: Raptors -11.5

Prediction: This is a pretty big spread, but the Raptors did take the last game by 22. Toronto has won the last three after dropping Game 1 at home. The Raptors are going win and I think they take it by twenty. Look for a Toronto cover. Orlando is gassed and it showed in the last game.

Game: Brooklyn Nets @ Philadelphia 76ers
Line:
76ers -9
Prediction:
To me, this game comes down to how ugly Brooklyn makes it become. Philly has one of the best rosters in the league, but Brooklyn has done a good job of making this series very physical and rough. I like Philly -9. Philly wants this series to be over and Brooklyn has got run off the floor in two of the four games this series. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are tired of these guys and will be looking to get this one over with early.

Game: San Antonio Spurs @ Denver Nuggets
Line:
Nuggets -5.5
Prediction:
Denver played Game 4 like they were the number 2 seed in the loaded West. They had the best home record in the NBA, and I think Game 1 was just a fluke. I love Denver -5.5. Jamal Murray will have his best game of the series and Denver will go cruising into Game 6 with a 3-2 lead.

Game: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Portland Trail Blazers
Line:
Blazers -4
Prediction:
This is the easiest game of the night. Blazers by 100 tonight. Close out game at home in the most interesting series of the first round. Russell Westbrook will shoot a whopping 25% from the field on 30 shots (if he’s lucky) and Dame will drop 35 and rock-a-bye Russ and the Thunder right out of the playoffs. Every Blazers win this series has been by at least five and that will continue tonight.

Baseball Steals

Game: Atlanta Braves @ Cincinnati Reds
Starting Pitchers: Kevin Gausman (R) 2.75 vs Sonny Gray (R) 2.79
Line: ATL -115; ATL -1.5 +145

Prediction: The bats are heating up for the Braves and Cincinnati can be a fun place to play when the ball is jumping of the bat. I’m taking the Braves -1.5 tonight. Guasman is a solid arm with a WHIP well south of 1.00 and the Braves lineup is far more dangerous than the Reds. Sonny Gray is having a nice year, but this might not be one of his best starts.

Game: Milwaukee Brewers @ St. Louis Cardinals
Starting Pitchers: Zach Davies (R) 1.19 vs Daniel Ponce de Leon (R) 2.73
Line: STL -115

Prediction: I was right about this one yesterday and I see the same thing happening today. The Brewers are a better team at home right now and it showed last night. I have to go with the Cardinals again at home. They routed the Brewers yesterday and while I don’t think we’ll get the same blowout we had yesterday. I still see a 3+ run win for the Red Birds tonight.

Game: New York Yankees @ Los Angeles Angels
Starting Pitchers: Domingo German (R) 2.37 vs Chris Stratton (R) 7.00
Line: EV

Prediction: I hit this one yesterday too. These two squads played a 14-inning marathon yesterday and the Yankees came up on top. This is the Yankees last game without catcher Gary Sanchez so at least they’re getting closer to being the real Yankees again. I think the Angels bounce back tonight at home and win this one. The Yankees still aren’t the Yankees and I think Chris Stratton puts together his best start of the year to take another close one.

Free Money Pick of the Day

The Free Money Pick is now 1-0 in its career and we’ll be 2-0 after today. We’re going to Chicago for the Dodgers at the Cubs for today’s pick. With Quintana going up against Maeda, this should be a fun game. I think the Cubs take this one. The best bats in the Dodgers lineup swing from the left side so this isn’t the best matchup for LA. Quintana and the Cubs are off to a pretty slow start and this might not be the turning point of the season, but the Cubbies will take this one on an even line. Cubs -110 is a lock tonight.

Underdogs with a Chance

So, taking the Orioles yesterday was just not a good idea. They got pounced at home and the Rangers took the L on the road. 0-2 on the underdogs so far but we will get back to even tonight. The first team we’re looking at are the Mariners who are down in San Diego for a series. Seattle leads the league in long balls by a lot and they’ll notch a few more tonight. San Diego is on the rise, but this won’t be their night. Take the Mariners for a nice +110 to make up for a disappointing Underdog Monday.

The second team we’re taking tonight are the Twins +120 in Houston. Houston hasn’t looked the best this year and the Twins have Pineda on the hill today. Pineda, despite being 2-1, has a rough 5.30 ERA but he is a lot betting than a 5+ ERA pitcher. He’ll turn it around against Wade Miley and Houston tonight as the Twins bat give enough run support to guarantee a win.

Closing

We’re looking for a bounce back day and we have some solid picks today. Good luck with your bets today and come back tomorrow for Wednesday’s picks.
