As WWE tries to push off a potential talent in the direction of AEW, news has emerged that another one of their stars has put pen to paper on a revised deal. Who you ask? Mojo Rawley renews with WWE.

Ryan Satin of  Pro Wrestling Sheet says, Mojo Rawley has signed what is said to be a “multi-year” contract with the company.

Further details of the renewed deal are not known at this time.

Who is Mojo Rawley?

Rawley, real name Dean Muhtadi, joined WWE’s developmental arm in 2012 following a stint as a Defensive Linesman for the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals. After four years pottering around NXT, he was called up to the main roster in 2016. Rawley was part of “The Hype Bros” with Zack Ryder.

A year later, he won WrestleMania 33’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Rawley had a little help from pro-football pal Rob Gronkowski.

Since then, Rawley has largely been mired in mid-card placement. He turned heel earlier this year. Rawley had a few series of promos in which he ranted and raved at his own reflection.

He also started wearing ‘scary’ face paint

Writer’s Take

Would AEW have jumped at the chance to sign Rawley? Of course they would. Mojo Rawley is one of the many people on the main roster; that doesn’t get used right in the WWE. Hopefully, with this new contract deal we will see more of Mojo Rawley. There might be a possibility that he could gain a championship at one point. He’s slowly but surely getting some television time now. I am pretty positive that if Rawley sticks around, he will have a title belt. I am a fan of Rawley heel or a face, I am excited to see what kind of future happens.
