The MLB All-Star rosters are set. The 2019 MLB All-Star game is on July 9th in Cleveland. The two highest paid free agents Bryce Harper and Manny Machado did not make the team. Every year there are snubs, so let’s take a look at some of this year snubs.
Trey Mancini 1B/OF Baltimore Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles do not have a good record, but Trey Mancini is putting up good numbers. Mancini is batting .302 with 17 home runs and 42 RBIs. He was one of the few reasons to watch Baltimore and he is versatile. He can first base and either corner outfield position.
Max Muncy 1B Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers are running away with the National League West and have the best record in the National League. It is kind of shocking Max Muncy did not make the All-Star team. Muncy is batting .281 with 20 home runs and 57 RBIs. The first position is stacked in the NL, but Max should have been on the team.
Fernando Tatis Jr. SS San Diego Padres
The San Diego Padres Rookie is batting. 335 with 11 home runs. Fernando Tatis missed a little over a month with a hamstring strain, which probably hurt his chances to make the team. We only can wonder what Tatis’s numbers would be if he did not miss time due to injury. Either way, he is putting together a good season.
Xander Bogaerts SS Boston Red Sox
Bogaerts is hitting .299 with 16 homers and 57 RBIs. Bogaerts is a good all-around player and is probably the only reason why the Red Sox aren’t out of the playoff hunt. He holds the fourth highest WAR in all of baseball.
Pete Alonso 1B New York Mets
Pete Alonso has 28 home runs as a rookie. He is the first rookie in National League history to hit 25 home runs in his teams first 75 games. He already broke the Mets rookie home run record, previously owned by Daryl Strawberry. It is possible Alonso could make a run at Mark McGwire rookie home record, which is 49.
There Are definitely more snubs, these are the ones i choose to write about for the 2019 MLB All-Star game.
