B.J. Boston, a five-star stud from Georgia, verbally gave his commitment to John Calipari and BBN for the 2020 class. Boston is a 6’7″, 185 pound Guard/Forward, and is ranked 10th in the 2020 class by Rivals.com. He chose Kentucky over the likes of Auburn, Florida, Duke, and Oregon.

How good is B.J.?

Without a doubt, he’s very good. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have the rank he does currently. Furthermore, his highlights show that he has great athleticism and quickness about him. Boston can stroke it from deep and drive to the paint extremely well with a wide variety of moves. The most underrated part of his game, however, comes on the defensive side of the ball. With his long wingspan and anticipation, B.J. Boston could be one of the better defenders in his class, if not the best. Causing havoc with ball pressure beyond the arc, and rising up to block shots into the stands. Watch some of his best plays by clicking on the link below.

His place at UK

B.J. Boston will fit in perfectly at Kentucky as guys like Tyrese Maxey, Ashton Hagans, and Johnny Juzang will likely all depart for the draft next year. There will be tons of holes to fill like always at Kentucky, but Boston is just next in line. Jalen Green and Josh Christopher will be alongside Boston if Cal plays his cards right. That would be a deadly trio if Kentucky snagged all three of them. Jalen Green is from Fresno, California and is the top ranked guard in the 2020 class who stands at 6’5″, 170 pounds. In the same way, Josh Christopher is also a guard standing at 6’4″, 200 pounds. Furthermore, Christopher is ranked 11th in the class of 2020. He is the 3rd ranked shooting guard in his class.
