Should the Wizards trade Bradley Beal? The question everybody wants to know. I say they should attempt to move him. Beal is under contract for two more seasons and will make 27 million in the upcoming season. In the 2020-21 season, he is on track to make 28 million before becoming a free agent.

If the Wizards had their choice I’m sure, they would try to trade John Wall, who they gave the supermax. After signing the supermax, John Wall went out and ruptured his Achilles tendon in the next season. Wall’s trade value is down due to the injury and his contract.

Why the Wizards should Move Beal

Although Wizards wish to give Bradley Beal a massive contract extension, they should look to trade him. The way the roster is constructed now, they will have a hard time making the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

The Wizards should look at the New Orleans Pelicans and the Oklahoma City Thunder and see what they received and trades for Anthony Davis and Paul George. Both teams got a pretty nice haul in return for their star players; the Pelicans received Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and multiple first round picks. The Thunder received Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, first round draft picks, and an opportunity to pick swap. The Wizards won’t be able to get that much for Beal, but they could get something good in return.

Trading Beal could give the Wizards enough assets to start a successful rebuild. Along with acquiring young players and draft picks for Beal, the Wizards could also use the trade unload some of the bad contracts on their team. A deal like Ian Mahinmi who will get paid 15 million dollars next season.

It will be interesting to see if the Washington Wizards make Bradley Beal available for trade. It could be could a good move, and Bradley Beal would be a great addition for a team looking for a reliable number two.
