After months of teasing his return, and weeks of Firefly funhouse episodes, “The Fiend” is here.

On Monday Night Raw, Finn Balor outlasted an assault from Samoa Joe. He would celebrate in the ring until his music slowly dissolved, and the lights slowly flickered off in the arena. After much anticipation, Bray Wyatt made his return to Monday nights, looking to salvage unfinished business with the former intercontinental champion.

It was almost two years ago where Wyatt would face off against the “Demon King” at WWE SummerSlam in Brooklyn, New York, and pick up the loss in front of a sold out Barclays Center. Wyatt was then supposed to face Balor, one-on-one, as sister Abigail at WWE TLC in October of 2017, before the former WWE Champion went down with an illness.

The Fiend

Wyatt’s much anticipated return was a shock to many. As the former “eater of worlds” had appeared on television months prior as the leader of the “firefly funhouse”. Numerous characters include Rambling Rabit, Huskus, Abby the witch and Mercy the buzzard.

Finn Balor lost his Intercontinental Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura at WWE Extreme Rules in Philadelphia on Sunday night. The leader of the “Balor Club” has reportedly requested time off from WWE following SummerSlam.

SummerSlam

With Balor set to take time off following the biggest event of the summer, WWE now places Bray Wyatt for the picking. It’s likely “The Fiend” will kick off his new push with a massive win over Finn Balor come August 11th.

Given Balor has appeared as the “Demon King” at the last three SummerSlam events (2016, 2017, and 2018). It appears that WWE creative is moving in the direction in which the WWE Universe will bare witness to “The Fiend” versus “The Demon”. FInally giving Wyatt a chance at redemption against Balor from their previous battle in 2017.

Note, the “Demon King” has never lost in WWE (main roster). With Balor set to take time off to “recharge”, it’s the perfect opportunity to put Wyatt over “The Demon”. This could jumpstart his massive heel push that could lead the “Fiend” to new heights on Monday Night Raw.

With Paul Heyman in charge on Monday nights, there’s no telling how far WWE creative will go with Wyatt’s new persona. He now has two egos to work with. The leader of the “firefly funhouse”, which is portrayed as a babyface version of “blues clues”. And then “fiend” where he is displayed as the most demonic character in WWE’s recent history.

“Yowie Wowie, we’re gonna have so much fun!” – Bray Wyatt.
