When the FanDuel Sportsbook opened in PA back in July, my first thought was, “Man, I can’t WAIT until college football comes back”. Well…WAIT NO MORE!! Here is your week 0 betting guide!

There are two games slotted for today, and I will give you a little insight into the teams as well as where the public money is going, and where I believe you should place those wagers for this evening.

Week 0 Betting Guide
The Gators square off against the “U” tonight @ 7 p.m. ET

Florida Gators vs. Miami Hurricanes

  • Spread: Gators -7
  • Over/Under 45.5
  • Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET
  • TV: ESPN
  • Location: Orlando, FL (neutral site)

Florida Gators

Hot off of their first 10 win season since 2015, the Gators will look to continue their momentum tonight against the Hurricanes of Miami. Last season, new coach Dan Mullen led the Gators to a 10-3 season improving 6 wins from the previous year. Florida will be returning most of their offensive weapons from last year including Junior QB Feleipe Franks and leading WR Van Jefferson, however they have lost their two starting offensive tackles to the NFL Draft.

Miami Hurricanes

The best thing about the Hurricanes last year was without question the Turnover Chain…I mean…the defense. The defense was one of the best in the league coming in at 5th in YPG, 3rd in YPP, and the best in 3rd Down Conversion percentage only allowing teams to convert 26.47% of the time on 3rd Down. This season, defensive minded Manny Diaz comes in to take the reigns after former HC Mark Richt called it quits following the worst bowl loss in the history of the team to Wisconsin.

The Line

The line for this game opened at Gators -7.5 or -8 depending on the book all the way back in June and is currently sitting at Gators -7. The Over/Under has been massively bet down from an open of 49 down to a current line of 45.5 with a whopping 82% of the public money on the Under.

The Plays

  • 1H Under 21.5
  • Gators -7
  • Over 45.5

Arizona Wildcats @ Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors

Week 0 Betting Guide
Khalil Tate, SR QB, Arizona
  • Spread: Arizona -11
  • Over/Under: 72.5
  • Kickoff: 10:30 p.m. ET
  • TV: CBSS

Arizona Wildcats

The cats from Arizona had a disappointing season in 2018. Khalil Tate’s ankle injury started off the year in the wrong direction, and things really never improved from there. The good news, however, is that the team is returning 7 starters from offense and 9 from the defense. Boasting an offense that averaged 31 PPG last season, they will look to move the needle north a little more with a healthy Tate. The cats have only met the Rainbow Warriors twice since 1998 and have won both of those contests.

Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors

The Rainbow Warriors come into their first game of the season with the most returning starters of any other team in the Mountain West. As a result, the team is getting some respect from the book keepers this weekend with a line lower than some would expect according to preseason Power Rankings. Look for Hawai’i to come out firing, and don’t be surprised if they have the lead at halftime…

The Plays

  • Hawai’i 1H ML (+260)
  • Double Result Hawai’i/Arizona (+550)
