With less than two weeks until the NFL regular season begins, outside linebacker/defensive end Jaedevon Clowney has not reported to the Houston Texans. Jadeveon Clowney may be on the move as he wants to be on a different team at this point in time. Clowney may be on the move as he wants to be on a different team at this point in time.

What does Clowney bring to a team?

Jadeveon Clowney on the Move

He is 26 years old and was the number one overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Jadeveon Clowney has been one of the most important players on the defensive side of the ball for Houston.

Throughout his NFL career up to this point, he has played in 205 games. Clowney has recorded 151 tackles, 29 sacks, forced five fumbles, recovered five fumbles, and 11 pass deflections.

Where could Clowney go?

Jadeveon Clowney has already met with Miami Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores. It is possible he could get traded to Miami, but Clowney is unsure if he wants to go there.

The Seattle Seahawks and the Philadelphia Eagles are his preferred destinations. Seattle and Philadelphia could both use another pass rusher.

If Jadeveon Clowney was traded to the Dolphins, Brian Flores would be developing something good on the defensive side of the ball. Miami used the 13th overall pick on defensive tackle Christian Wilkins from Clemson University.

Philadelphia is already talented on the defensive line. How tough would it be for opposing defenses if they had to block for Fletcher Cox and Jadeveon Clowney.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Clowney planned on reporting to the facilities this week until he found out that the team wants to trade him.

Jadeveon Clowney is entering the final year of his contract. He is expected to make approximately $15.9 million this season on the franchise tag.

If Clowney gets traded to another team, expect him to be with that team long term. Some of the other teams that could use him are the New York Giants, the Detroit Lions, the New York Jets, the New England Patriots, the Buffalo Bills, the Carolina Panthers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Carolina Panthers.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days with this situation. Houston’s defense is in bad shape to begin with. It could get even worse soon.

I am not sure if Clowney will get traded at all honestly. He might sit out the season or get traded right before the trade deadline on Tuesday October 29. Do you think we’ll see Jadeveon Clowney on the move?
