It was announced Tuesday Lisa Leslie is Coach of the year for the BIG3. Her first year in the league and was named coach of the year. Another milestone for the legend. Leslie has led her team with a 7-1 record. The Triplets are going to the finals. The Championship game is this Sunday.

As you can see women are taking over coaching roles and succeeding in a male-dominated sport. The Triplets will be facing the Killer 3’s in Sunday’s championship. Leslie is not the first female coach in the BIG3 to win the coach of the year. In fact last year a female coach won the BIG3 championship. Nancy Lieberman led her team the Power to win the championship.

Two female coaches back to back coaching at a championship game. It’s amazing to read that and say it aloud. Big things are coming for women who want to work in the sports industry. More and more women are coaching in the NBA. In the near future, we will witness the first-ever woman head coach in the NBA. That will be historic. Becky Hammon has paved the way for female coaches. On August 5, 2014, Hammon was hired as an assistant coach for the Spurs, becoming the second female coach in NBA history.

What’s Next For The Legend?

The Legend can do it all. The three-time WNBA MVP has done it again. Leslie is back at her old stomping ground in a championship game. This time with the BIG3 league. Can she lead the Triplets to a championship win? What’s next for the Legend? A coaching career in the NBA, WNBA or back in the BIG 3. Only time will tell. It seems the legend can do anything and leave her footprint.

She is one of a kind person, former athlete, champ and now coach. Make sure to watch the Championship game on Sunday at 3 PM ET on CBS.
