When basing these rankings, I tried to take how the opponent finished last year against the run, what that defense has done to get better, as well as what the running backs team has done to better themselves.

Number One – Christan McCaffrey/ Carolina Panthers
MCM will be a #1 ranked Rb through out the year. In week one , Carolina host the Rams . The Rams in 2018 were ranked 23rd against the run giving up 122.3 on the ground and 12 touchowns. With an over/under of 50 and the Panthers playing at home, this game aligns perfect for MCM having a great week 1!
Running Back To Watch
Dalvin Cook/Minnesota Vikings
One of the running backs I am looking forward to watching this year is Dalvin Cook! The most important thing that Cook has to do is stay healthy in 2019. In week 1, the Vikings host the Atlanta Falcons and are a 4.5 home favorite. In 2019 the Falcons were ranked 25th against the run. The spread and the Falcons weak run defense make this a top-notch matchup for Cook this week. The Vikings also added some key pieces to their offensive line.
Running Back Not High On This Week
Aaron Jones/Green Bay Packers
Since I am looking at last year in order to rank these Rb’s, then I can not ignore the fact that the Bears, the Packers opponent this week were the number one ranked defense in the league. The Bears gave up under 100 yards a game and a whopping 5 touchdowns for the whole regular season. With the Bears playing at home and a 3 point favorite, I feel that it will be hard for Jones to have a good game on the ground. With a lingering hamstring injury as well, if I could stay away from him i will. If you drafted him as a number 2 back and it is all you have to roll with, just understand this may not be his week.
