Natasha Howard won the Defensive Player of the Year award, but she only scored 2 points in the Storm’s 84-74 victory. Minnesota Lynx made it a priority to double-team Howard every time she touched the ball.

Jewell Loyd and Jordin Canada stepped up big time for the Storm. Loyd scored 22 points and hit three-pointers, she shot 6-14 from the field. Jordin Canada finished the game with 26 points shooting 10-21 from the field. She also added four assist and two steals.

Mercedes Russell also stepped up and scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Storm. Howard did an excellent job looking for Russell for easy layups while passing out of the double teams.

Damiris Dantas lead the Lynx in scoring, while Rookie of the Year Napheesa Collier scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Veteran Sylvia Fowles had 14 points and 10 rebounds herself.

The Seattle Storm pulled away in the fourth quarter by playing good team basketball and swarming defense. Natasha Howard did an excellent job not forcing the action and looking for her teammates. Seattle will play the Los Angeles Sparks in the second round on Sunday.
