Should more women coach in the WNBA? An interesting question that many basketball experts and fans want to know. No offense to any men coaching in the WNBA. They are more than capable to do the job. The league needs to see more female coaches. Empowered women empower women.

If the WNBA hires more women coaches that will be history in the making. What is holding them back? Is it money? Not enough time? It is the short season so maybe the schedule is a conflict. What can the league do for female coaches to join the WNBA?

Is It Time For Legends To Join The league?

Two names come in mind immediately Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Swoopes. Leslie just won a championship with the Big3 in her first year in the league. Endless accolades to her list. Lisa would do great in the WNBA and develope a great team with her knowledge, experience, and hard work. She showed everyone she is ready to coach in the big leagues. Everything she touches turns golden. The 3x MVP and champ is ready for a bigger role.

Another legend that would do brilliantly in the WNBA is Sheryl Swoopes. She has experience coaching college basketball as an assistant at Texas Tech. She is more than capable to coach in the league. Every fan will love to see Sheryl Swoopes as a coach in the WNBA. The question is, are they willing to take a pay cut?

Women coach in the WNBA

The certain amount the coaches make annually in the WNBA is uncertain. However, the league, the fans, and players need more women coaches to impact them and make a difference in young women’s lives. It will send a great message to young girls that female coaches are needed in basketball. Women coaches can understand the players in a deep sense that male coaches can’t. A mentor that they can count on any given day.
