The big question for all Sparks fans is, what is next for the Los Angeles Sparks? With a disappointing elimination game 3 loss. What went wrong with the team that was playing caliber basketball in the regular season? The Sun outcoached them both in offense and defense. The Connecticut Sun are advancing to the finals for the first time with yesterday’s win. The final score 78-56.

What is Next For Coach Fisher?

I am still baffled just like every single WNBA fan on the decision coach Fisher made in benching Candace Parker and Parker only playing 11 minutes in an elimination win or go home playoff game. How is it possible you are going to bench your superstar? She wasn’t injured she was mentally in the game but what went wrong. Both coach Fisher and Parker answered the question at the press conference and at a media post-interview. Parker just stated ” That’s for Fish”

Coach Fisher stated, ” Trying different rotations to get some energy on the floor” or something of that sort. So therefore if that is the case why not put Parker on the court with the different rotations and see what happens. Why not experiment with that notion? Very odd situation not only for coach Fisher but for the Sparks organization and players. Does coach Fisher stay or does he go?

What is Next For The Los Angeles Sparks?

With the Sparks getting swept in the semifinals 3-0, what is next for the Los Angeles Sparks? The Sparks ended their regular season 22-12 under a new head coach Fisher. The Sparks added new pieces to their roster Chiney Ogwumike, Tierra Ruffin-Pratt and rookies Kalani Brown and Marina Mabrey. It is tough to adapt to a new system and coach on top of the injuries they faced this year. In July alone they had a 7-8 player roster due to injuries and suspensions.

However, they managed to surpass that adversity and played the best team basketball in July and August. Overall they didn’t play great team ball yesterday. The Sparks didn’t seem united as they usually do. They got outperformed in every single quarter by the Connecticut Sun. The only player who played a solid performance for the Sparks was Nneka Ogwumike with 17 points, 2 steals, and 6 rebounds.

In conclusion, how will they prevail and become a better team for next season? We will be waiting patiently next season and see what happens to this resilient and great basketball organization.
