During the college football season, I’m going to be handing out the most prestigious weekly award in America. The Big Belly Award will be given to five players a week, there are no set criteria. Reasons to win the award span from having a huge statistical week to having a crazy haircut. Anyways let’s get into it. Here are the Big Belly Players Week 5.

Eno Benjamin

My personal favorite player of the week was Eno Benjamin. This was one of the gutsiest performances I have seen in a long time. Benjamin touched the ball 31 times and was hit in the backfield 15 times. A lot of the hits were big hits by a pretty elite defense. Throughout the game you could see Benjamin was in pain, he was limping all over the field and looked like he had just gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson. But he stayed on the field and took the rock over and over again. He single handily carrying the ASU offense to the win. He ran it 29 times for 100 yards and 3 touchdowns but the toughness he displayed made him the perfect recipient for the first-ever Big Belly Award.

Seth Williams

Next up we have Seth Williams the receiver for Auburn. Mississippi State just could not stop him. Williams just made explosive plays all day, he went over 30 yards three different times. Mississippi State looked really bad this week and one of the main reasons was allowing 161 yards and 2 touchdowns for Williams. This kid is 6’3 and 220 pounds and he was out running an SEC defense like they were MAC athletes. Look for him to be on this list in the future.

CeeDee Lamb

CeeDee Lamb is a superstar. I’m not sure if there is a player in the country that can cover him. He has pro size and speed, runs terrific routes and he’s a part of the best-named receiver duo in the country with Charleston Rambo. This was a toss-up between him and Jalen Hurts but quarterbacks already get enough love. Also, Lamb did have 183 yards 3 touchdowns and average over 30 a catch so he was more than deserving.

Devonta Smith

Did the Ole Miss even play any cornerbacks or safeties If they did maybe they should start a whole new secondary last week after allowing 274 yards and 5 touchdowns to one player? Not to take anything away from Smith though that was one of the best individual games I have ever seen in college football. This Alabama offense could put a different receiver on this list every week with how talented they are. But I can’t see any of them or anyone topping the game Smith had this week.

John Mayers

A lot of you may not know who this is but the Baylor kicker was a big part of my Saturday. There were a few seconds on the clock and he was summoned to win the game. I remember turning to my friend and saying ‘I’m about to just rip the ticket up college kickers are the fucking worst’. Yes, I had Baylor Moneyline no big deal. I looked away from the screen for a second and see the ball flying way off and my heart dropped.

Then I realized it was a replay of his terrible miss earlier and I was an idiot, there was no way he kicked it that fast. When Mayer’s name was called he stepped in drilled a big kick to send the home crowd into a frenzy and win me some money. So for that, I am personally thanking you John Mayers with a Big Belly, congratulations. Those were the Big Belly Players week 5.
