USC at Colorado

I’m pretty much only going over this game because I have rules. One of my rules is that I’m going to cover five college football games and since Saturday doesn’t have five that interest me we’ll focus on Friday. USC has a good chance to be a top 25 team at the end of the year. They go into Colorado as 12 point favorites. I think that’s pretty fair. Kedon Slovis has been playing pretty well, he’s completing 73.6 percent of his passes.

He’s got two pretty big time playmakers at receiver in Michael Pittman Jr. and Tyler Vaughns. Both guys are big body pass catchers, who will probably play on Sundays. Let’s take a look at College Football Preview Big Five Week 9.

Montez Struggles

I think Colorado kind of sucks. Their QB Steven Montez has 10 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, he’s pretty erratic. Colorado does have a game-changer on defense in Mikial Onu. The safety has 4 interceptions, 3 pass deflections, and two forced fumbles. Still, USC just has too many weapons and too much talent, they go into Colorado and get the job done.

Wisconsin at Ohio State

Ohio State is maybe the most dominant team in the country. They’re averaging 49.7 points per game and only allowing eight. The big time talent is there. Personally, if I was an NFL GM my top two picks in the NFL draft are Buckeyes defensive end Chase Young, who I’ve talked a lot about https://bellyupsports.com/2019/10/college-football-week-six-previewing-the-big-five-games/ and Jeff Okudah. Okudah is a true lockdown corner, Ohio State has put a lot of great DB’s into the NFL recently and he might be the best one. Justin Fields and J.K. Dobbins make the offense almost unstoppable.

Two ‘other guys’ to watch in this one are Master Teague III and Shaun Wade. Teague is a freshman running back with 512 yards this year. He’s the next big-time Buckeyes back. Shaun Wade has 7 passes defended this year and is one of the best cover guys in the nation. The Badgers are going to really have to rely on Jonathan Taylor in this one. With the corners Ohio State has its really going to allow them to focus on defending the run game, which isn’t good for the Badgers. Wisconsin is a really good college football team. The only problem is Ohio State is an elite one, give me the Buckeyes 42-21.

Auburn at LSU

Auburn is one of the most talented teams in college football. Again it’s another team that I’ve already written a pretty good amount about. They have NFL talent at every level on the defense and some athletic playmakers on offense. I think Bo Nix is going to be a really good quarterback. He got some experience in a hostile environment this year when Auburn beat Texas A&M in Kyle Field. There is a problem though Texas A&M isn’t LSU.

Death Valley and LSU

College Football

First off LSU has the best home crowd in college football and I won’t here otherwise. Just look at this website they made for Death Valley. http://www.lsu.football/experience/death-valley When you pair that with the elite talent LSU still has on defense. They’re going to be almost impossible to beat at home. One of them is true freshman Derek Stingley Jr., he’s a future top 10 pick in the NFL draft and my favorite player to watch in the country. LSU’s defense is scoring at least one touchdown on Saturday.

Then when LSU has the ball their almost unstoppable. Joe Burrow is completing 79 percent of his throws, and each completion goes to a player with big-play potential. This offense is scoring at least 28 on everyone in the country. LSU 42 Auburn 17.

Oklahoma State at Iowa State

Honestly this is another game I’m not super excited by. We get three great football games on Saturday and they’re spread into the three main time slots, which is nice. But there isn’t much filler or reasons to be flipping channels, I guess that’s not a bad thing. Iowa State gets a chance to cement themselves as the fourth-best team in the Big 12 with a win here. I know being fourth in the Big 12 doesn’t sound that great but there’s nothing wrong with having Oklahoma, Texas, and Baylor ahead of you.

Iowa State Is Just Better

Brock Purdy is one of the best QB’s in college football. He’s got 14 touchdowns and only 4 picks, he’s also thrown for 2,185 yards. He can carry an offense by himself. O’Rien Vance is another big-time player for Iowa State. He’s the game-changer on their defense with 6.5 sacks this year. Oklahoma State really only has one chance in this game. It all comes down to whether Chuba Hubbard can carry them. He might be the best running back in the country. He’s first in the nation in rushing yards and touchdowns this year. But Iowa State has the 24th rushing defense in the country. Honestly Chuba probably goes over 120 yards and gets a score but it won’t be enough.

Notre Dame at Michigan

One of the biggest rivalries in football gets the prime time slot. Notre Dame travels to the Big House to take on Michigan. I’d say Michigan is pretty lucky they get this game at home because if it wasn’t I think Notre Dame wins by three touchdowns. I’m pretty out on Michigan until Dylan McCaffrey can play QB again. Shea Patterson just isn’t the guy, the team overall looks pretty slow, it’s just a down year for the Wolverines.

Everyone knows the quarterback position is the most important in football and there’s just too much of a gap here. Ian book and Shea Patterson are on two different planets when it comes to QB play and that’s going to be the difference. Jim Harbaugh is not capable of winning big games and this Notre Dame team is legit. I do think there is some magic in the Big House though and Michigan is going to keep it closer than it should be. Notre Dame in a close one. That was the College Football Preview Big Five Week 9.
