We are seven weeks into the national football league 2019 season and the debate has already struck up for the best quarterback in the NFL currently. Quite a few have made their arguments to be held in such an honor, but who are the top five?
5. Deshaun Watson
What a third year from the kid from Clemson. What a difference a few offensive line pieces make. Watson is becoming one of the most exciting players to watch in the NFL, utilizing both his ability to scramble and deep ball accuracy to feed Deandre Hopkins the ball early and often.
4. Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers is a bad, bad man. Even with all the injuries this packer offense has faced, including to star WR Davante Adams, Rodgers has torn defenses apart. Rodgers makes it look easy, and you never feel like their out of the game no matter what the score. Even with only eight touchdowns, he’s only thrown two picks and one was a tipped ball. Rodgers continues to make watching the Packers fun. If this Packers offense can get CLOSE to healthy, there’s not many teams that can stop them.
3. Tom Brady
Old man Brady still knows how to get the job done, and effectively. The Patriots offense is the teams weakest link with injuries yet Brady has still found a way to match his team down the field. Tossing 10 touchdowns and only three interceptions at 40+ is impressive, but keeping your team undefeated is even better. Father Time is still kept at bay.
2. Patrick Mahomes
Mahomes picked up right where he left off in 2018, making huge plays with both his legs and his cannon arm. More no-look throws & More domination. Currently leads the league in yards and touchdowns, but went down on Thursday night with a dislocated knee that thankfully should only keep him out a few weeks. Could we see a repeat at MVP?
1. Russell Wilson
Wilson has been nothing short of amazing the season. He already has an argument for best pass of the year, a dime to WR Tyler Lockett in the corner of the end zone that made jaws drop across the NFL. Wilson hasn’t just made great throws, he’s made great decisions to lead his team to 5-1 throwing 14 touchdowns and not a single interception. Wilson has a strong argument already for league MVP
