The Cincinnati Bengals were a team with some talent heading into the season. Zac Taylor was brought in to be the new head coach and fix this offense. The Andy Dalton era needs to end in Cincinnati.
Taylor was the quarterback’s coach for the Los Angeles Rams last season.
Once again on Sunday afternoon, Andy Dalton looked horrendous throughout the game and Cincinnati lost at home to the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 27-17.
Andy Dalton threw two interceptions on back-to-back plays in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with completing 22-of-43 passes for 276 yards one touchdown and three interceptions. Dalton also rushed for 33 yards on four carries and a score.
I understand that he has not had wide receiver A.J. Green all season long, but you have to play with what you have on the field.
Dalton has been horrendous throughout the regular season as well.
So far this season, he has completed 172-of-286 passes for 1,923 yards eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. Andy Dalton has rushed for 51 yards on 13 carries and three touchdowns.
This team has yet to win a game this season and they might as well end the Andy Dalton era now. They drafted Ryan Finley in the fourth-round in the 2019 NFL Draft. He played his college football at North Carolina State University.
This team is horrendous anyways and the Cincinnati Bengals need to make a lot of trades now and stockpile draft picks. It is obvious this team is in a rebuild and they need to get as many picks as possible.
If they don’t like in what they see with Finley, Cincinnati will most likely have a top-two pick in the 2019 NFL Draft anyways.
Two of the quarterbacks that will be available with that selection is either Tua Tagovailoa from the University of Alabama or Justin Herbert from the University of Oregon.
It is very possible that the Bengals could trade Andy Dalton before next Tuesday’s trading deadline. There have been a lot of trades in the NFL already this season.
There is no way Dalton will be the starting quarterback for this team after this season. He was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Andy Dalton was a good quarterback for this franchise, but his time is over with this team.
