Tomorrow night in Philadelphia will definitely be an interesting night. No the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t playing the Cowboys. No the Phillies are not wrapping up a postseason round. It’s the return of the Wayne train. Wayne Simmonds returns for the first time in Philadelphia since being traded. He will be wearing a New Jersey Devil sweater, instead of the orange and black. Leading up to this contest Simmonds has stated that he would be upset if the fans didn’t boo when he is announced. He has changed his mind on that and said he hopes to get an ovation after spending 8 years in the city of brotherly love. I mean you would think he would get an ovation for what he not only did on the ice but in the community itself

What are Flyers fans going to do in Wayne Simmonds return?

Personally, I am curious to see how the fans react when Wayne Simmonds returns to Philly. I don’t even know how I’m going to act when he returns. On one hand, we as Philly fans are known to be hard on our rivals, but its one of our beloved players that we traded away. When I found out he signed with the devils, through a friend that’s a devils fan, I first reacted like “nope, never wearing his jersey again.” and ” he’s a traitor to me.” As time passed I realized I still want the best for him. He was my first ever hockey player I actually liked and followed. I loved his style of play. Sitting down in front of the net and cleaning up loose pucks. Also coming to his teammates defense when needed. I honestly took his style of play and use it in EA sports NHL games. Yes he’s older now and plays on the third line with rookie Jack Hughes but that’s not a bad guy mentoring the young Hughes.

So tomorrow night, I’ll sit down in my chair wearing my stadium series number 17 jersey. As he gets called out I will tip my hat to him. Thank you for getting me fully interested into this sports and the Flyers. Once that puck drops though, as the saying goes, the gloves are off. You are the enemy and we will stop you.
