The Chicago Bears won the NFC North last season with a 13-3 record and things have not turned out well for them so far this season. Can the Chicago Bears go on a run?

Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has regressed big time, but Matt Nagy is still a terrific head coach. They still have a solid defense, which is led by outside linebacker/defensive end Khalil Mack.

Chicago took down the Detroit Lions at home on Sunday afternoon by a score of 20-13. The Bears now improve to 4-5 on the season. A loss yesterday would have been basically put Chicago’s playoff chances out of reach.

Because they won yesterday, the Chicago Bears have a slim chance to make it back to the playoffs for the second consecutive season. They have not made it to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons since 2005 and 2006.

Chicago can forget about winning the NFC North title but can they get the number six seed in the NFC?

They can very well win their next three games. The Bears have the Los Angeles Rams (5-4) on the road in Week 11, they host the New York Giants (2-8) in Week 12, and they go on the road against the Detroit Lions (3-5-1) on Thanksgiving Day.

After that, Chicago will then host the Dallas Cowboys (5-4) on a Thursday night in Week 14 on December 5. The Chicago Bears will then be on the road against the Green Bay Packers 10 days later in Week 15.

Chicago will then host the Kansas City Chiefs (6-4) in Week 16 and then they will be on the road in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings (7-3). That could be a game that could potentially knock Minnesota out of the playoffs, but it doesn’t look like it with the way things are going with the Vikings right now.

I could see the Chicago Bears winning their next four games. After that, I think they will hit a rough patch. They will realistically finish with an 8-8 or a 9-7 record.

The Minnesota Vikings are the current sixth in the NFC and the Seattle Seahawks (7-2) are the current fifth seed in the NFC.

Minnesota only plays two teams over .500 in the final six weeks.

Seattle only faces one team with an under .500 record the rest of the way.

The Los Angeles Rams (5-4) still have to play the Arizona Cardinals twice, but Chicago can control its own destiny against Los Angeles with a win on Sunday night.

The Carolina Panthers (5-4) have to play the Atlanta Falcons twice and the Washington Redskins once. Carolina might have the easiest schedule remaining out of the teams I just mentioned.

The Philadelphia Eagles (5-4) or the Dallas Cowboys will win the NFC East. There won’t be two teams from that division that makes it to the postseason.

We will see what happens down the stretch. But it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Chicago Bears go on a run because of the talent they have. Can the Chicago Bears go on a run?
