The Miami Dolphins have had such a strange 2019 season up to this point. Miami started the season 0-7. It appeared as if they were going to be the massive favorites to land the number one pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Did the Miami Dolphins forget about tanking?

However, Brian Flores, the new head coach of the Miami Dolphins this season, has this team playing much better as of late and Miami has won the last two games.

The Dolphins took down the New York Jets in Week 9 by a score of 26-18. Miami took down the Indianapolis Colts on the road by a score of 16-12.

The Miami Dolphins would own the fourth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft right now. Miami also has first-round picks from the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Houston Texans.

Both of those picks would be later in the first-round right now because if the season ended today, Pittsburgh and Houston would play each other in the postseason.

The front office might want the Dolphins to tank but that locker room believes they can win another couple of games this season. Will Miami actually win another couple of games this year?

Five of the final seven games on the schedule are actually winnable. But they might win no more than two more games this season.

The Miami Dolphins will host the Buffalo Bills (6-3) next Sunday. Miami will be on the road on November 24 against the Cleveland Browns (3-6). Then they will then host the Philadelphia Eagles (5-4) on December 1.

They will then go to Metlife Stadium in back-to-back weeks on December 8 and 15 against the New York Jets (2-7) and the New York Giants (2-8).

The Dolphins will then host the Cincinnati Bengals (0-9) on December 22. Miami will then will be on the road against the New England Patriots (8-1) on December 29.

The most likely wins that will occur are either against one of the New York teams and Cincinnati.

The Miami Dolphins will have 14 draft picks in 2020. This team has a plan moving forward.

The Oakland Raiders had three first-round picks last season and so did the New York Giants. Oakland is in the hunt for the playoffs right now because of it and New York has no idea what it is doing.

Miami needs to draft a quarterback with the 4th overall pick. Joe Burrow from LSU, Tua Tagovailoa from Alabama, or Justin Herbert from Oregon would be some of the key options here.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is the short term answer at quarterback for this team. However, Josh Rosen doesn’t seem to be the answer long term at the quarterback position.

This team traded away some key pieces like Minkah Fitzpatrick, Laremy Tunsil, and Kenyan Drake.

They also need to draft some offensive line, some wide receivers, and some other game-changers on the defensive side of the ball.

Whether their tanking plan works or not, it remains to be seen. How about the Miami Dolphins not tanking?
