Literally imagine it. Imagine fancying yourself any kind of a football fan. Check that (in my best Rome’s voice) imagine watching three minutes of any Ohio State game this year and not being sure if Chase Young, the best pass-rushing prospect in years who is everyone’s #1 overall draftee in next year’s NFL draft can play in the Dolphin’s defensive scheme.

This is all stemming from Brian Flores‘ press conference when he was asked if Chase Young would be a good fit in his defensive system.

I wish Brian Flores’ answer was simply, “Yeah, I think we could find a spot for Chase Young on this defense. It might be hard at first to see where he’s comfortable, but I’m confident that that with a little luck Chase Young could one day contribute for the Miami Dolphins.” That or Flores just “yeah” and moved on because it’s absolute Psycho Ville, (the one where Finkle is the Mayor), to think that a player the caliber of Chase Young may not be able to fit into the Dolphin’s, any team’s defense or military defense.

Chase Young: Surely This is Not a Real Question

Chase Young

The Dolphins have a whopping 18 sacks this season. If you could believe it, that’s last in the league. Chase Young has 16.5 sacks this season and he missed two games. So yeah, I think that Flores can find a spot for him on the squad if Miami is lucky enough to be able to draft him. If Flores can’t figure out how to utilize a player like Chase Young then he should be fired on the spot. Young will go no later than second and Miami is currently 3rd with a major game against the Bengals this week. So, there’s a decent chance that they won’t ever have to worry about trying to hire a team of the world’s best minds to come up with a way to get the most out of Young.

I can’t even imagine what ultrasmart topic will be circulating on the Dolphins’ social media accounts today. I wouldn’t mind seeing discussions if Ryan Fitzpatrick got snubbed from the Pro Bowl or if the team should consider Antonio Brown for next year as long he stays out of trouble. If we can get one of those going, that be great.
