First off I apologize to those of you who supported RAW Talk, I have been missed the last three weeks but I’ll return in 2020 stronger than ever. With that being said let’s get right into the last episode of RAW for 2019.
It’s hard not to rant about those miserable last 30 minutes so I won’t rant, just ask why? I understand if your going something risqué you must but the content on as late as possible because of the young fan base. My question is why even attempt it. Ok so Lana was trending on social media, cool but at what expense? Liv Morgan who has been repackaged somewhat effectively over the last month is now part of the worst storyline of 2019.
The wedding of Lana was like watching Freddie Kitchen’s first year of coaching, just not as long. Both instances keep making you ask why. Why is this storyline being continued? Why is this man a head coach? You have a great chance to save Liv for the Rumble. Let her shine and then boom see where it goes. Now you are going to struggle to bring her out of this abyss called the triangle of killed careers.
Vince might like the social media buzz but the true fans who pay their money want this nonsense to stop now. WWE superstars were laughing at the AEW missed punch botch but after that horrible segment, you took the heat of the missed punches and put it on yourself.
For as bad as the ending was, the 8 and 10 o’clock hours were great. First we were given a little taste of Seth and AOP vs Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe is what Vince wanted Roman Reigns to be, over with the fans without effort. The reaction Joe had from the crowd was electric and what the show needed. It was a taste of what will come in the future weeks, not thrown down our throats like some storylines have been. It looks like the Royal Rumble winner can easily be from RAW. Joe, Kevin, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, A.J. Styles and Andrade can all be valid opponents for whoever the champ is. Granted it feels like Roman Vs The Fiend is where they are going with Roman winning the rumble, but RAW is stacked with legitimate contenders.
Speaking of Randy Orton how about that segment with A.J. Styles. The segment did so much. It provides a very good swerve, it kept solidifying A.J. as a top heel and it added hope that Edge may get one more match. I was hoping for an Edge save but Orton playing possum was more effective. That segment brought me back to where Mark Henry swerved John Cena and left audiences speechless and left Cena in the house of pain. Great work by everyone involved that storyline.
Well let’s hope 2020 brings RAW high ratings and segments that everyone talks about positively. RAW has a talented roster hopefully 2020 will be the year RAW regains the title of top wrestling television show.
