Dearica Hamby’s Infamous Shot

Who can forget Dearica Hamby‘s infamous shot and the shot of the year if I may say? It will go down as the top moment of the decade. What an amazing shot and play by Hamby. The Las Vegas Aces were facing the Chicago Sky in the playoffs and Hamby with few seconds left in the game has the ball in her hands. It was an incredibly difficult shot that Hamby made, a miracle shot. Take a look at the buzzer-beater.

I may add the Las Vegas Aces are one of my favorite teams as well as the Chicago Sky so i was stunned, upset and happy at the same time. If that makes sense. Let’s add that Hamby made one of the best steals of the season let alone the playoffs.

Top Five Moments WNBA

Let’s continue with our top five moments of the WNBA season with the Chicago Sky. As I mentioned earlier Chicago is one of my favorite teams this season. Despite the buzzer-beater loss to Las Vegas, they had a great season. The Sky were one of the most entertaining teams to watch this season. One of those moments was Courtney Vandersloot reaching Sixth All-time in Assists this season. She had the most Assists in the regular season with 300.

The Chicago bench and starters were all outstanding and one of those players is Diamond DeShields. DeShields finished the season with 16.2 points per game, 2.4 assists, and 5.5 total rebounds. DeShields is fun to watch and one of the best guards in the league. She had a great sophomore year and continued to shine with the USA team and Euroleague.

Liz Cambage Trash Talk After Game 3 Against Washington Mystics

Liz Cambage scored 28 points in game 3 of the Semifinals game to keep the Las Vegas Aces finals hopes alive. Immediately after the game, Cambage sounded off in a post-game interview.

” I just kept stealing inside, they’ve got small fours guarding me. If they can’t handle it, get in the weight room or get out the post.”

It was awesome to see a little trash talk going in the WNBA playoffs; it added a slight edge to the game. The Mystics went on to win Game 4 and advance to the WNBA Finals, but Cambage managed another strong scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Elena Delle Donne Becomes The First WNBA Player To Have A 50-40-90 Season

Elena Delle Doone played in 31 games in the 2019 season; she became the first WNBA player to post a 50-40-90 season. That is shooting 50% from the field, 40% from three, and 90 from the free-throw line.

Delle Donne shot 51.5% from the field, 42.9% from three-point land, and 97.4% from the free-throw line, she made 114 out of 117 free throws. Delle Donne finished the season averaging 19.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. The Mystics star played capped the season off with the WNBA MVP and WNBA Championship.

Brittney Griner Suspended for Three Games

During a home game vs the Dallas Wings, it is said that Brittney Griner elbowed Kristine Anigwe in the face but BG claimed it was self-defense in response to the excessive contact coming from KA. Anigwe was only suspended for two games. I personally feel like the punishments were unfair in the sense that both players should’ve got the same suspension.

But because they said BG escalated the incident she got an extra game suspension. BG is a tough player on and off the court. Watching her sit down with ESPN really shed light on the situation and how she feels valued in the league. With the women’s pay under scrutiny and a lot of other underlying issues Let’s hope we don’t lose her as one of the top key players for the Phoenix Mercury.
