Many leagues now have entered the playoffs where we’ve all worked so hard to get to. One big injury has the potential to unfortunately throw your whole team off. But, with good waiver moves you can save your season and earn your prize for winning it all. Here are some of my top guy this week that will help you get past the first round. I give you the Week 14 Waiver Wire!

Sam Darnold

Coming off a poor week against the Bengals, Darnold doesn’t look great. But he has a matchup against the 29th ranked defense against QBs in the Dolphins at home. He should be in for a good redeeming week and could fill in for the week if necessary. The last time they faced off Sam got 260 yards and a TD along with 1 INT. This game could end up being a slight shootout affair which is good for Darnold. I’d use him as a fallback plan in case you really need a QB for the week.

This may be a long shot to find him available in most leagues, but if he is sitting there you need to get him. After a dominant performance against the Panthers Guice seems to finally be hitting his stride. In 10 rushing attempts he got 129 yards and 2 TDs with 2 receptions and 8 yards. Although his yards per carry doesn’t seem repeatable, don’t be surprised to see another big game out of him against to Packers who are ranked the 3rd worst defense against the run. Although he is in a split backfield with Peterson, I wouldn’t be too concerned about how large of a volume share he’ll receive.

Alexander Mattison

Dalvin Cook potentially could miss this week meaning a huge role may be given to Mattison. If Cook misses time, Mattison could be a playoff match up winner for teams. He managed to get 11 points in that game where he only really got shares in the 2nd half. 4 receptions for 51 yards and 4 rushing attempts for 22 yards is very promising if he gets a whole game to himself. Against a battered Detroit team, the Vikings may just let Cook sit out to get healthy and Mattison will be a great flex option for almost any fantasy team.

Patrick Laird

Laird is geared toward those larger leagues where the waiver is much thinner, but he is a great option. In those deep leagues he is a viable flex option going against the Jets defense. The thing that makes Laird viable is his pass catching ability. He didn’t catch a pass against the Browns but had 4 for 43 verse the Eagles and 6 for 51 verse the Bills. Since he is a risky PPR only back don’t go out of your way to get him unless you really need an RB. He should have a safe floor of roughly 6 points but unless he gets in the end zone his ceiling is capped at roughly 12 points.

James Washington

If you read my last waiver wire article you would have already seen my opinions on Washington. But, if you haven’t than these past few weeks showed you what I knew he was capable of. He is very talented and without Juju there are a lot of targets and looks that need to go somewhere. Washington isn’t a high-volume guy but has been able to produce well with him opportunities. With 39 points these past 2 weeks against a weak Cardinals defense. Now getting Pouncey back from suspension should help give Hodges more time to get the ball to his guy Washington.

AJ Brown

AJ Brown isn’t the sexiest fantasy player to have but his consistency is key. Heading into a matchup against the Raiders’ defense that has been allowing a lot of passing yards recently. Brown is a great target if you are looking to just fill a flex for a week or 2 for when he plays against the Texans too. With 30 points in the last 2 weeks. Brown should be more than capable of putting together 2 good weeks and helping you when you need him. Since Tannehill took over week 7 brown has only posted 1 game under 7 points with 3 of 6 going in the double digits.

Mike Gesicki

Week 14 Waiver Wire

This is a tougher matchup for him compared to the last 2 weeks but don’t be afraid of Gesicki this week. 29 points the past 2 weeks is insane for a TE like him who’s available in the majority of leagues. Mike is averaging 4.2 completions per game these last 5 weeks and I don’t see him slowing down. Last week he went 5/79/1 which you’d be happy to see from a WR let alone a TE. With the Giants and Cincinnati coming up he can be viable for the rest of the fantasy season for you. I’d recommend getting him to anyone in need of a TE for the rest of the season.
