Ever since winning the WWE Championship from Kofi Kingston in 10 seconds on the debut episode of “Friday Night SmackDown” on FOX, the WWE Universe has been waiting to see who will take down Brock Lesnar for the title. Over the past several years, WWE has placed gold on the beast’s shoulder with the hope of driving up ratings during busy times of the year, such as January’s “Royal Rumble” event.

Not only has Lesnar’s constant title runs hurt ratings, but has also hurt much of creative plans, considering “Monday Night RAW” is without a world champion on a weekly basis.

Seth Rollins has done the impossible by defeating Lesnar, not once, but twice in 2019, defeating the beast incarnate at both WrestleMania 35 and SummerSlam.

However, Rollins has since turned heel, leading a faction with the Authors of Pain (AOP), prompting one to think that he will not be receiving another crack at Lesnar’s title.

With one of WWE’s more larger pay-per-view events, Royal Rumble, taking place in just a matter of weeks, it was to be thought that Lesnar’s opponent would be announced when he made his return to the red brand last Monday night.

For years since Brock’s return to WWE back in 2012, we have seen the former UFC Heavyweight champion compete sporadically throughout the year, putting up quick, lackluster matches with top and rising superstars, only to squash them with an F-5 at the end.

John Cena, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, among others, have all fallen victim to the beast, making one think, who would step up to the plate this time around, and would the result be any different?

Well, for the first time in a long time, WWE creative through their universe a curveball.

On January 26, 2020 at Minute Maid Park, the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will be entering the Royal Rumble match as the number one entrant.

Not only will Brock Lesnar NOT be defending his WWE title at the event, but he will be competing for a chance to main event WrestleMania to challenge for another world title, making fans fear for the absolute worst.

With this announcement by Paul Heyman shaking up the landscape for January 26th, let’s take away the positives from seeing Brock Lesnar in the Royal Rumble match:

Dream Scenarios

With Lesnar entering the rumble match as the number one entrant, the likelihood of him being eliminated early is slim to none, as WWE will be looking to utilize Lesnar as much as possible in their co-main event.

As Lesnar picks apart all the jobbers that will enter the rumble match, he will also get a chance to step into the ring with familiar and new foes.

The WWE Universe will get the opportunity to see Lesnar go toe to toe with the likes of Kevin Owens, Ricochet, Cesaro and any NXT superstar that may enter the match, including Adam Cole and Keith Lee.

It has been reported by several sources that Adam “Edge” Copeland could be making a shocking return to the ring after retiring 9 years ago due to a neck injury.

We have seen the likes of Shawn Michaels and most recently, Daniel Bryan, return from career ending injuries in the past, however, the 11-time world champion has denied this reports on several occasions over the past month.

Even with Copeland denying all reports, a chance to see Lesnar go face to face with the rated “R” superstar for the first time ever would surely be something that the WWE universe would want to see.

Also, if Lesnar somehow ends up making history, and wins the rumble match from the number one slot, it would set up a dream contest that many fans have been clamoring for years, and that’s Brock Lesnar versus “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.

Anticipation Of Elimination

With Brock Lesnar entering the rumble match as the number one entrant, it is highly unlikely that the WWE Champion comes out victorious, despite being the beast incarnate.

Lesnar will most likely dominate the rumble throughout the 90-minute contest, but will ultimately fall short to, what many think, will be his WrestleMania challenger for the WWE title.

This match will see much anticipation and anxiety for most fans, waiting to see who will eliminate Lesnar from the 2020 rumble match, as his WrestleMania opponent still seems to be up in the air.

It was reported a while back that WWE wanted to go with Lesnar versus Tyson Fury at the big event in Tampa Bay, but have since thought better of it, considering the contest would be between two part-time competitors.

As each entrant makes their way to the ring, look for Lesnar to slowly stumble towards the end of the match, leading to his shocking elimination from a superstar that is sure to meet Lesnar on the grandest stage of them all in April.
