The Jordan 8×8 collection is chucked full off goodies and the collaborators behind them are awesome. The collective as a whole represents unity and the 8 transit lines.

The Jordan 8×8 collection

Sheila Rashid

Since I went to her event we will start with Sheila Rashid and the purple line. Sheila work on the Jordan 1, a hoody and a long sleeve shirt. She drew inspiration from a kids’ dunk, she wanted to see adults in a two-tone shoe. The images featured were taken by Sheila herself. During her talk, she told us that she jumped out of her Uber ride to capture the picture of the ice cream truck. Her collection is cool and calm just like her.

The green line features four local students that represent the Wings organization. The students worked on a Jordan 10, a hoody and a long sleeve shirt. They kept the Jordan clean and used all eight colors of the transit lines.

Green line

Virgil Abloh

Thee Virgil Abloh got to rock out the red line. He brought his Off-White vision to Jordan 5, a jacket, a pair of pants, a boiler suit, a hoody, and a short-sleeve shirt.

The Succezz shop was tasked with the yellow line. SucceZZ was founded back in 2008. Co-Owners LaVelle Skyes and Bobby Simmons used the phrase, “No Place Like Home” on a hoody and a long sleeve shirt.

Socialworks

SocialWorks group

Up next is the blue line and Socialworks. Socialworks is co-founded by Chance the rapper and the team worked on a Jordan 1 KO, a hoodie and a long sleeve shirt.

Jordan 1 KO by SocialWorks

Lyrical lemonade by Mr. Cole Bennett used the Jordan Aerospace 720, a hoodie and a long sleeve shirt to showcase the pink line.

The last two lines are brown and orange. Drew the Barber put his spin on a hoodie and long sleeve shirt to represent the brown line. Cody Hudson uses his reimaged take on the Chicago flag on a hoody and long sleeve shirt to bring orange into the Jordan 8×8 collection.

Congratulations to all the collaborators in this collection. Chicago and the NBA all-star game will dazzle next weekend.
