The Bulls faced SMU last night and It was senior night at the Yuengling Center and the Bulls came out with a convincing win 85-62. USF celebrated senior Forward Tamara Henshaw who was her last home game at USF. Four incredible years as a lady Bull. The energy was great at the Yuengling Center, the fans were into it from the beginning. The game started rocky but USF finished strong for Tamara Henshaw. It was a successful senior night game.

Henshaw played 22 minutes, 4-4 from the field, five rebounds, two blocks, two assists and eight points for the night. A solid performance for the senior. As Tamara stated in the presser in regards to her emotions throughout the game, “It’s very emotional, I am a very emotional person”.

Henshaw would do the little things to help her team. An unselfish player who only cares about helping her team win. As Henshaw stated, ” I think I was a little jittery but my teammates push me harder than anybody else so after I kind of come down we started going on two runs”. Tamara Henshaw 6’1″ Forward who had an impressive career at USF. Let’s look down at memory lane with Henshaw’s career as a lady Bull;

– USF Athletics Honor Roll (Fall 2018)
– American Athletic Conference Honor Roll (March 4, 2019)
– American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year (2016-17)
– American Athletic Conference Freshman Team (Unanimous, 2016-17)

The numbers don’t lie but Henshaw is all about her teammates, school and the city of Tampa who embraced her and a university she called home for the last four years. Watching and listening to her speak at the presser Henshaw seems like a humble, funny, and kind person. It appears to be she is a fun teammate to be around. Personally I would like to see her in the WNBA or even Europe to continue her basketball career. A true underdog that can help any team in the league.

She will sacrifice her body to help her team win. The league needs a player like Henshaw. A player who will give her best effort every single minute she is on the court. What a great way to go out and get the W for Henshaw. A successful senior night game.

The Bulls had 40 points in the paint, 14 fast-break points, 29 bench points and had 12 points off turnovers. That made the difference in the game. Compared to SMU’s 20 points in the paint, six fast-break points, and 16 bench points.

As I witnessed the energy coming off the USF bench and players it was evident the Bulls wanted to win this game for Henshaw. The Bulls dominated in the paint, however, they didn’t shy away from the 3-point line. Elisa Pinzan had her usual night from the arc going 4-8. Every time Pinzan or any other players make a three the USF bench goes crazy and celebrates. Yes, that’s for every three the team made. It’s incredible and fun to witness that for every home game. Pinzan finished with 14 points.

But the Bulls top scorer for the senior night game was freshman guard Elena Tsineke with 21 points. Elena went 2-5 from the arc. She also had three rebounds, one assist, and five turnovers. The future is bright for the Bulls as the majority of their players are underclassmen.
