Lance Archer set to make AEW Dynamite debut

It was announced on Twitter last week that former IWGP US champion, Lance Archer has signed a contract with AEW. AEW gave the official press release following the signing:

Archer is set to make his debut tonight on AEW Dynamite.

Archer has traveled across the globe for years, making stops in WWE, IMPACT, and most recently New Japan Pro Wrestling where he is a multiple time IWGP tag team champion with Davey Boy Smith Jr. as members of SuzukiGun.

His lone IWGP US championship reign came to an end this past January at Wrestle Kingdom 14 against current AEW champion, Jon Moxley, who still holds the belt today. Could AEW rekindle their rivalry, only this time on a broader platform?

This is a huge get for AEW. 2019 was the best year of Archer’s career and AEW did a great job locking him up for the next few years.

Jon Moxley is your new AEW champion

This past Saturday at Revolution in Chicago, Jon Moxley defeated inaugural champion Chris Jericho to capture the AEW championship. Moxley became the second man to ever hold the AEW championship.

Tonight’s featured bout on AEW Dynamite will feature the new champion Moxley teaming up with Darby Allen to face the former champion Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara.

Allen and Guevara faced off at Revolution as well and so there’s bad blood in every corner of this match. If AEW doesn’t continue with these rivalries going forward it’s likely all coming to an end tonight as a new flux of superstars are rumored to become All Elite.

Either way, the era of Moxley is upon us and it doesn’t look like it’ll end anytime soon.
