Jackson State team manager Thomas “Snacks” Lee is now considered the projected top overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Shot Heard Around the Internet

During Jackson State’s Senior Night rout of SWAC rival Arkansas-Pine Bluff last Sunday, Lee entered the game with 2:05 remaining. But with 32 seconds remaining, Lee drained a three-pointer from the SWAC logo of the Williams Assembly Center floor. The crowd and his teammates went WILD and the Internet followed. Clips of the stout team manager’s three-point shot went viral and made scouts salivate.

Snacks Catapults to #1 Prospect

After the video went viral, NBA scouts raced to their phones at the nearest airport bar and watched the clip. They had little choice but to determine that Thomas “Snacks” Lee is now the top prospect in the 2020 NBA draft.

“By Odin’s beard, what a release,” exclaimed an NBA scout was overheard saying outside of a bar watching the clip.

“Where were they hiding this kid?” asked another NBA scout. “He was the team manager? And now he’s the belle of the ball? It’s a literal Cinderella story!”

“He’s a triple threat,” said another NBA scout. “He can shoot the J, hand out water, and make sure everyone gets their oranges at halftime.”

Pundits React

Pundits from Stephen A. Smith to Shannon Sharpe to Tony Kornheiser were on their respective shows this week lauding the senior’s big night.

“If Adam Silver doesn’t rig the draft as David Stern did in ’85 so the Knicks get Lee in this draft, my head will literally cave in on itself,” said Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take.

“LeBron might be the G.O.A.T., but “Snacks” Lee? He could replace him,” said Sharpe on Speak for Yourself before Skip Bayless interrupted him to say something unrelated about the Dallas Cowboys.

“That kid is gonna change the game of basketball!” said Kornheiser on ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption. He then picked his alma mater Binghamton to win the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

Lee has not officially declared for the draft nor has he hired an agent, but he has blocked phone calls from LaVarr Ball.
