Let’s get something out of the way. I am first and foremost a motorsports guy, but football is a close second. Now that issue is out of the way lets get on with this topic. With all the speculation about which quarterback will go where in this year’s drafts. Let’s talk about a guy who isn’t quite getting any recognition from many “draft experts.” Jake Fromm the Junior Quarterback out of the University of Georgia.

Jake Fromm Stat’s Compared

The draft experts have Jake rated anywhere from the fifth to the seventh ranked player at his position in eligible players. Which realistically is considerably low in my opinion. I really quickly want to compare the top five quarterback’s and Jake as ranked by Sports Illustrated.

SI RankingPlayerGames PlayedCompletion PercentagePassing YardsTouchdowns
1st Joe Burrow3868.88,85278
2nd Tua Tagovailoa3269.37,44287
3rdJustin Herbert4364.010,54195
4th Jordan Love3861.28,60060
5th Jacob Eason2959.85,59039
6thJake Fromm4363.38,23678

So as you can see above Sports Illustrated has him ranked sixth. The “draft expert” Mel Kiper has gone as far as calling him a third-round draft pick. Like are you freaking kidding me?! This young man is tied among the most games played among the top six players. Let’s go on, Jake Fromm has the fourth-best completion percentage, third-most yards and is tied for third in career touchdowns. Also, not to mention due to injury he took the starting job away as a freshman from the guy ranked just above him at Georgia. Open your damn eyes guys! I know arm talent is phenomenal, and he had a rough year last year but still, even with that, his statistics are right up there with the top five quarterbacks.

Draft Day Landing Spot

Jake Fromm

I’ve seen some odd predictions of where the Georgia native will go in next month’s draft. They have ranged from New England all the way to Tampa Bay. Really either of those would be awesome landing spots for Jake. Each one would have separate advantages. New England has arguably the best coach ever to do it still in Bill Belicheck. Tampa now has a solid coach and future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady. Either option would give Jake the ability to sit for a little while and learn the ways of the NFL. Which he is going to have to do regardless. I know any number of things can happen. Some other team could fall in love with Jake Fromm as a player and leader and take him. So come draft day nothing is set in stone.

Why You All Are Here

So, now that I’ve gone out of my way to give you some statistics and predictions. I’m going to go bold here so hold onto your chair. Jake Fromm is going to be one of the top five quarterbacks taken. He will most likely go in the second round unless like I mentioned above a team has fallen in love early. Now depending on his landing spot, I’m sure he won’t start until the mid-season mark or even in a future season.

However in the year 2030 if we all make it that far Jake Fromm will be competing for the title of the most accomplished quarterback in his draft class. His career will have lead him to multiple pro-bowl visits. The young man will have padded his statistics and I’m going to go a step further. He will have at least one of those shiny Super Bowl rings as well on his hand.

Conclusion

Now that you think I am crazy but let me just say one more thing. I know when it comes to the NFL draft anything can happen with a player or team. So, while my predictions are bold and somewhat crazy I just for some reason believe in Jake Fromm. He has the ability if put into the right system and on the right team to accomplish all of those things and so much more. Much like past quarterbacks in Russell Wilson who got critiqued for his height that will not be something that stops him. Or even like Drew Bree’s who constantly got harassment for lack of arm strength Jake will put in the work to be successful.

When it is all said and done in ten years people are going to look back and regret not taking Jake Fromm. The product of the University of Georgia is going to be a successful NFL quarterback. Who knows maybe even more so than any of those quarterbacks ranked ahead of him in the draft. I mean don’t forget we do have a six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback who was drafted in the sixth round.

Maybe I’m crazy too because I agree with you 100% about Jake Fromm. Barring career changing injury etc, you are absolutely correct in this prediction. Love it!!
