Summer is quickly yet quietly approaching. No matter how dark these last few months have been for a lot of people, the sun will shine again! Remember, it always rains before the rainbow. While the weather starts to warm up the talks of football begin to heat up as well.  The 2020 college football season is approaching and everyone will start talking expectations of their favorite teams with their favorite drinking buddies, from a safe distance of course. CFB Playoff predictions, Heisman favorites and dark horses, breakout studs, all of it.

The beauty of this game is we will never know the truth until it happens. The sports world can get turned upside down and change in the blink of an eye. But the feeling of a prediction coming to fruition is enough to have one feeling like ole’ Scott Van Pelt for a few days. I’d love to hear everyone’s predictions so feel free to let me hear them on Twitter @RondoSports937

In the meantime, enjoy a few of mine

Trevor Lawrence will have one of the best single seasons by a college QB ever. This one seems like a total no brainer to me. We’ve all seen what he can do on the gridiron for Clemson. Standing tall at 6’6 with a solid frame and a golden arm with matching hair. This young man is going to scorch the ACC to get his season totals up there with the all-time marks. Depending on what caliber of team Notre Dame has when they meet in November will determine if there will even be a road bump in this 2020 campaign. Most likely to be the top pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

Micah Parsons will be the first defensive player drafted in the 2021 NFL draft. This uber-athletic linebacker at Penn State is the real deal people. I’ve had my eye on Parsons since his senior year of high school. If you get a chance to watch a Penn State game please do and keep your eye on number 11. He racked up 107 total tackles and 5 sacks last season as a sophomore. Safe to say that Parsons will improve on those numbers, possibly average around 10-12 tackles per game.

Ohio State freshman wide receiver Julian Fleming will be a star this year. A top rated recruit, Fleming will live up to the hype. This young man has all the tools to be dangerous every time he touches the field. Perfect blend of size, strength, speed, and toughness and only a freshman. He will have plenty of space to work in the Buckeyes offense along with Justin Fields, Chris Olave, and fellow freshmen Gee Scott Jr, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. 1,000 receiving yards and 10 TD’s easy for Fleming. This offense is deadly.
