Tonight, Martinsville Speedway will host their first Cup Series night race, but before the green flag flies let’s take a look back at the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 at Atlanta.

Chase Elliott and Aric Almirola are on the front row.

Stage One

Elliott leads and Joey Logano takes 2nd.

The competition caution is out.

Joey Logano leads the field back to green and Kevin Harvick is behind him.

Harvick peeks to the inside of Logano and has momentum off of turn two. Harvick takes the lead!

The Stewart Haas Racing #4 Ford Mustang seems to have lost some speed. Martin Truex Jr. is coming fast behind! Truex is your new leader!

John Hunter Nemechek spins around and the yellow flag is out.

Truex remains the leader at the restart.

Martin Truex Jr. holds the top spot to win stage one.

Stage Two; Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500

Clint Bowyer beat Logano to the exit of pit road and that will make him the new leader.

There’s a early battle for the lead!

Truex see’s an opening on the outside of Bowyer. They are now side by side, but Bowyer is not giving up the lead that easy! For a few laps they race hard for the lead, but eventually Clint Bowyer wins the fight and keeps the lead.

Bowyer has to pit early. After a round of pit stops for everyone, he cycles back to the lead and Truex is still in 2nd. Clint Bowyer leads by almost 10 seconds!

Truex has found his way back to Bowyer. Bowyer chooses to go to the top and Truex is on the bottom. Truex clears him and takes the lead back!

Trouble in turn four for Michael McDowell! He spins and the caution is out.

There is less than 10 laps to go in stage two!

Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch are on the front row. Truex gets a little push from behind by Ryan Blaney and Truex leads.

Behind them, they’re four wide! We have heard people saying Atlanta is a snooze fest, but what exactly does a NASCAR Cup Series race need to make it exciting? Already in this race we have seen good battles for the lead and now we have FOUR WIDE racing! Don’t get me wrong because I know some changes need to made, but besides Dale Earnhardt Sr. coming up from his grave, walking into the gates of Atlanta Motor Speedway and strapping back into a racecar for one last run, what else does a race fan want?

Third and Final Stage

Kyle Busch won the race off pit road, so he is your new leader when the final stage kicks off.

Kevin Harvick is on the rear corner of Busch. He moves to the outside and closes in for the lead!

Harvick is still in the lead, but Busch has not disappeared too far into the rear view mirror.

Now, Truex takes P2.

Drivers have began making a round of green flag pit stops. Harvick makes a freaky fast pit stop then is back to the front of the field.

15 to go!

Bowyer was having a good day, but he now must make a stop for new tires.
