College football is back and I love it! How has it gone? Weirdly. For degenerates who haven’t watched every game, turn on, tune in, and drop out. It’s time for some college football reactions.

Is Texas Back?

After a week one win against UTEP, the Longhorns looked pretty good. I know it’s only UTEP, but a 59-3 win is a 59-3 win. Then, the rails came off. An OT win against Texas Tech, then back to back losses to TCU and Oklahoma. Down 14 heading into the fourth, Texas came back to tie it up late. Unfortunately for the Longhorn faithful, Spencer Rattler and the Sooners outlasted them, coming up with the win. So no, Texas is a long way from being back.

Is The U Back?

College Football Reactions: is the U back? Yes, but no

Look, the Canes started the year 3-0. With a big win against a ranked Louisville and blowing out the rival Seminoles, it seemed like the Hurricanes could make some noise in the ACC. Then they walked into Death Valley. Some complained about officiating, and late touchdowns to make the score look worse than it was, they still lost by 25. So no, the U is not back. But, they are more back than Texas.

Holy Shit Alabama Can’t Play Defense

AKA the real reason I wrote this.

Ok, so I love Big 12 football. If there are no good SEC games or an Alabama game on, I will have on some Big 12 football. That doesn’t mean I want to watch an Alabama game where Big 12 numbers are put up. I was shocked when I woke up and found out Pete Golding still has a job. It’s not even like there’s a question of who else will call plays. You have Charlie Strong as your co-defensive coordinator. Fire Pete Golding, give Charlie play calling responsibilities, and go win a Natty. Hell, give Steve Sarkisian play calling duties. The offense is amazing, maybe Sark has a few tricks up his sleeve.

Also, if you think I’m overreacting after one game, the defense sucked last year too… Pete Golding’s first year as defensive coordinator. I digress, I am sad, buy a shirt.

There you have your early season college football reactions! Will Texas improve? Will Alabama learn how to play defense? Want to follow my journey into inebriation during Alabama football games if they don’t? Check me out on Twitter (@BellyUpKev). Need some more CFB content? We have you covered.
