Jameis Still Has Room For Improvement

When Tom Brady announced he was signing with the Bucs last offseason, many wondered where Jameis Winston would end up. The 2015 rookie of the year turned out to be a disappointment for the Bucs franchise. Let’s remember, Jameis had two elite receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and could not get the job done. Hopefully we won’t have to watch him squint over to the sidelines to receive his play calls this week against Atlanta. I mean come on, it’s the Falcons. Maybe we’ll keep getting a few cheap laughs that Matt Ryan and his second half performance provides each Sunday. Add Winston into the mix and it should be an exciting and hilarious game.

With a 7-3 record, this was the best option for the Saints to role with Famous Jameis. Is it time for Winston to resurrect his career under Sean Payton? Looking back at the Bucs head coaches while Winston was with the organization wasn’t very impressive or productive. Raheem Morris, Greg Schiano, Lovie Smith (love the beard by the way) and a guy named Dick Foetter. I’m not a Bucs fan, but besides Lovie and Raheem, I have no clue who the other two former coaches are. Jameis still has a shot in league as a productive and winning quarterback. With some of the top offensive talent, including a healthy Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, the Saints won’t skip a beat with Winston. Sean Payton has shown that he can coach with back-up quarterbacks. When Drew Brees was injured during the 2019 season, Teddy Bridgewater replaced him and went 5-0 in that span.

Saints Moving Forward with Jameis

Sean Payton is a proven head coach in the NFL and has the Saints organization heading in the right direction. Saints fans, grab some popcorn and sit back because the second half of the season is going to be a good one. I like the Saints but only if Jameis can promise his teammates that he will never give another pre-game speech again. Additionally, I predict that with Winston under center and the guidance of Sean Payton, they are a lock win the NFC. Yes, you are looking at Jameis Winston leading the New Orleans Saints to the Super Bowl. Keep in mind, it’s still 2020. Anything can happen.
