Another year, and more disappointment. If that phrase reminds you of your life and/or favorite NBA team, don’t worry. You aren’t alone. Over the last handful of years watching the Kings and Bulls I’ve also learned to idly stand by and watch the time pass as other teams, you know, draft well and build a foundation for a brighter future. But not everything is doom and gloom. If your team sucks you have been given the sort of gift only a few trust fund babies and OnlyFans account holders have: true freedom. And if you are one of those few, dare I say, lucky people, freed from the shackles of rooting for a team in vein, I welcome you. You have the power to watch other teams, not necessarily because they are good, but because they will be fun. And watching basketball is supposed to be fun. Here are the most entertaining teams to watch this upcoming NBA season:

Brooklyn Nets

Might as well start with the team everyone is already talking about. I don’t think much has to be said about the Nets. They have Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Steve Nash as coach, and tons of assets to trade for a third star. Even if they decide to keep their depth, Jarrett Allen has one of the best fros in sports so you can’t really go wrong watching Brooklyn this year. The only thing that can hold them back from being the most entertaining team to watch this year is a lack of ball movement. If a third star (Harden?) comes to town, having three elite iso players might become…redundant.

Jarrett Allen’s (pictured) fro is perfect. Just look at it. It’s beautiful.

New Orleans Pelicans

Another team everyone and their mother is talking about, the Pelicans. They have Zion so nobody is surprised, but people may be surprised when this year Brandon Ingram proves once and for all that he will be the catalyst to the team’s success. This Pelicans team is talented as hell, but they lost Jrue Holiday which could have been a costly loss on the court (off the court three first round picks is an amazing return). But luckily for us, we don’t care if the Pelis are good or not. Watching Lonzo Ball play a larger role will be intriguing too. Mostly I just want to watch Zion break hopes and backboards.

The New Orleans trio oozes with talent, can they prove themselves this year?

Phoenix Suns

The Suns went undefeated(8-0) in the bubble, just missing out on the playoffs for the millionth time in a row or something. But this year will be different. The Suns acquired Chris Paul to add to their superstar Devin Booker, and they have young talents as well. Deandre Ayton is poised for a big year if he can avoid another suspension, and Mikal Bridges has shown some flashes of being a really good 3 and D player. The Suns are going all in for the playoffs, which means they will be competitive in most games, and that’s all I’m really asking for when I watch random teams play. They may not end up playing like the best team in the West this year, but they’ll certainly be one of the most entertaining.

I was going to write something about Book and Paul together but got distracted by that dump truck.

Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks, another formerly horrible team with actual aspirations this upcoming season. Trae Young alone makes the Hawks one of the most entertaining teams in the league, but now he’s not alone. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari are quality spot-up shooters that should create even more space for Young. The number of double teams Young faces this year should go down because of this, which means more of these. They also signed Rajon Rondo, who is always a fun player to watch with his intensity. But mostly, I just want to watch Trae Young do crazy things.
