One more day until Rangers Hockey!

The Rangers posted their official active roster last night with no big surprises. They also announced their six-man taxi squad. Which will be Barron, Bitetto, Blackwell, Hajek, Kinkaid, and Robertson. All the Rangers that were placed on waivers cleared. The only question was Kinkaid. With the Devils down a goalie with Crawford retiring, there was a thought they could reclaim Kinkaid for depth. Lucky for the Rangers they didn’t and they keep a veteran emergency 3rd goalie.

Coach Quinn said yesterday’s practice lines would be a pretty good indication of what the opening day line up will be. Below are the lines from practice.

Right now it looks like Rooney will be scratched opening night, but I believe him and Di Giuseppe will play in a rotation. On defense Smith looks to be the odd man out with Robertson assigned to the taxi squad.

The biggest news is K’Andre Miller who now looks to be paired with Trouba. Miller came into camp battling for a roster spot and now he will be looking at top four minutes. Tony DeAngelo has brought some negative attention upon himself because of his political views. The Rangers have said they are addressing it privately but this will be an issue all season long. Unfortunately after such a great year last year DeAngelo and his new two year deal might be on the trade block if the Rangers get their price. Quinn hasn’t announced who will be in goal yet, but I would be shocked if it isn’t Igor.
