March 31st, 2021 gave those who are tired of Skip Bayless one more reason to loathe him. Instead of ending the month on a high note, Skip Bayless decided to bestow a brand new horrible take on LeBron James.

Skip Bayless is truly the definition of the gift that keeps on giving. It’s gotten to the point where Skip doesn’t even hide his biased LeBron hate anymore. Just six months ago, Skip’s Los Angeles Clippers blew a 3-1 lead against the Denver Nuggets. Not only did they choke away the series lead, but they also squandered three straight double-digit leads, something that Skip Bayless appears to have forgotten all about.

Yes, LeBron’s first season with the Lakers was indeed a bit of a disappointment. Up until then, LeBron had made it to the NBA finals nine-straight times. However, due to a weak roster and injuries, he missed out in his first season with LA. But to claim it was worse than the Clippers blowing a 3-1 lead in the fashion they did is utterly ridiculous. It’s a hot-take that’s so mind-blowingly blasphemous, it’s fair to say that Skip Bayless should have his basketball card revoked.

Either that or he should be banned from talking all things LeBron James-related.

Skip Still Hasn’t Learned His Lesson

This isn’t the first time Skip’s mouth has gotten him in trouble on Belly Up. In November, Skip Bayless was awarded the Belly Up Sports Dunce Award for his take on the Lakers free agency. Essentially, Skip claimed that what the Lakers lost in free agency was more impactful than who they signed. Granted, the signing of Marc Gasol has proven to be a disaster, but the acquisitions of Dennis Schröder and Montrezl Harrell have been fantastic. Though currently struggling due to injuries, the Lakers clearly looked like the best team in the NBA when healthy.

That’s something Skip Bayless won’t ever acknowledge due to LeBron being on the team.

For the second time in only five months, I award Mr. Skip Bayless the official Belly Up Sports Dunce Award. May you wear it with great pride, and please, keep LeBron James and anything associated with him out of your mouth. Or alternatively, don’t, and keep giving me fun topics to write about!

Growing up in a single-parent household came with its perks and downsides. Perk, I became very close to my mother. The downside, she wasn't a sports watcher. It wasn't until I was 15 years old that I was introduced to the world of sports/sports media. That's when I truly fell in love with it all. And it wasn't the X's and O's that won me over, it was the deep-rooted stories of the business, the athletes, and the ever so changing nature of sports that intrigued me. As a recent college graduate and Communications major, I hope to put my imprint on the sports media world.
